Ref codes for bricks and bobs

Greetings to all.

I need some help in finding the reference codes for some bricks and plates that I need to build a stand for a model. I have designed it on Design by Me but it only gives me the names and Lego say they can only place orders for the pieces I need with the ref codes. Ive had a look on ebay but can't find any codes, and pick a brick hasn't given me any answers either, so I was hoping the good people here could help me out with my predicament.

I have a list of the parts needed here, all items are in Black, I don't know if the codes change for different colours or not;

Wing section rear

Technic brick 1x8

Technic brick 1x6

Flat plate 2x6

Flat plate 1x2

6x8 brick Ø4.85

Flat plate 1x12

Plate 2x2 with 1 stud

Connector peg

Any help with be warmly welcome, and I thank you for having a look at this post.

Look in recent instructions, for the last few years they've included a list that includes the LEGO Design ID # for the parts contained in that set. Each color DOES have a separate numbers. You can download many instructions to get a digital copy of the page containing the Design ID's. You can find set numbers if you need to via Bricklink's Inventory feature.

Also, depending of course on where you live and such, it may be easier to buy them on Bricklink than the LEGO site. The numbers don't change based on parts, and for many parts, it's cheaper. And you can buy parts that are no longer in production, or not available from Pick A Brick.

Are you actually trying to order the parts from Lego?

Quite a few of those parts are actually on the online PaB, so I was just curious as to why you needed ref codes?

Also, on the online Pick a Brick, each element has the Design ID (which is the same for each element of that type) and Element ID (which is different for each colour of that element)

(And yes, I realise I repeated much of what Bearded Castle Guy said, but I didn't fully understand what he said when I was typing my bit until I finished )

I'm surprised at myself that I didn't even think of using Bricklink! I guess it comes from having to tell all the people at work about buying from PAB (Currently in my 7th month of working for TLG )

Perhaps but it was late and I actually used the wrong term, I did mean the LEGO Element ID opposed to the Design ID.

I also had not checked the Online PaB, I guess I assumed the original poster had done so already.

I see both Bricklink and the Online PaB as having different advantages, so they both can have a place in your online parts buying strategy.

I had spent some time tracking down Element IDs for my LUG's LUGBulk order so had developed a 'system' or at method to trying to find Element IDs, so I basically outlined it in broad terms above.

Found all the required bricks from Bricklink, thanks to the members who jolted my memory about the existence of BL =)
