Looks like a 3 pack of the old Tiny Turbos...

Theres a big discount bin at TRU with those in it...

Know anything else about the set?

Is it just a combo pack or does it come with tracks(corner picture on box) or something extra?

Whats Ravensburger btw?

I love that orange car in there. Bought a TON of them on discount. 1 or 2 of the yellow, too.

What's with the track layout in the corner? Is it just artwork, or is there a track set they run on?

ah

game board pieces that can be arranged to make a game board track

roll the dice to see how many squares your car moves

that sort of thing I gather?

Well, its a nice idea

personally I'll pass, since I get the same cars on discount anyway

That orange one is awesome I agree, as a parts pack, very nice orange tiles and slopes in there.

Plus it has those classic airplane tires.

And that set specifically gives a liberal helping of them. Snag as many as you can, if you want to make a kicking orange moc at some point in the future. X-D

Funny thing too about that car... I bought it thinking it was yellow... seems all the packages of it I ever came across were defectively printed... or maybe it had been initially yellow, and they didn't modify the image enough to reflect orange.

What exactly is the benefit of teaming up with Ravensburg to make... this one set?

Not exactly a playset like this one, but at the end of 2005 there were 4 different sets of Ravensburger puzzle with a Lego theme. They each contained a regular puzzle (40 pcs, if I remember correctly) and one small clear polybag with Lego inside.

Two were KKII themed: on contained a Vladek and the other a Jayko minifig with shield and weapon. Both exactly the same figs and gear as in set 8877.

The other two were City themed: a police trike with fig and a fire commander's car with fig (the latter was not available anywhere else, I was told at the time).

All 4 had the same printed brochure with instructions for all four "sets".

Ravensburger have also teamed up with Playmobil to make quite a few things - jigsaw puzzles and games. In my experience the (pretty young) kids they are aimed at love them.

exellent the two best companies from my two main hobbies have joined forces to produce lego board games. I hope to see a board game thats more about designing with lego bricks soon. but i think this particular game is a little more complex than rolling dice and moving, as german game companies tend to produce german games, which are abstract games (games that are based on a single mechanic) that have almost no luck at all. Ravensburger is the producer of the classic master labyrinth which uses an ingenious mechanic and allows the game to run fluently and almost with a sense of magic. I just could see them making a roll and move game. However that said, lego might have expected ravensburger to do something simple just so the the item would sell. I hope this license can continue and turn into a series of more typical ravensburger boardgames which you make out of lego. Who knows they might even make master labyrinth as a set, and for those of you who arent familiar with the game, this means brown, white, red and blue wizards!
