jorgeopesi Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I want to make better my old 813 and I am building this one. More light with diferent and smaller wheels but same power, steering, trasmision, gearbox and chasis are diferents and it works better that the 813. In the video you can see that it works in second and first gear without make crash... I have to do more test and remove bricks . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mg0SOu6PZw0&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL Quote
timslegos Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I love the soft suspension. Going o ver obstacles looks really cool. tim Quote
Tobbe Arnesson Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Looks promising, great suspension! The motor looks cool too! :) Quote
jorgeopesi Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 I love 8x8 trial trucks... but I think if I want to built a good trial it have to be a 4x4 truck... . I will make more tests but on this one the winner is the 4x4... Both trials have got same gearbox and tatra axles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKIpCbrbATM&list=UU0D6ectQCy7IVGlKE6rnqIQ&index=1&feature=plcp Quote
Mas Bambang Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 8x8 have a nice suspension, it make wheels dancing. Quote

jorgeopesi Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 Another video, the final MOC will be a 4x4 the 8x8 was less efficient... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhgpc6-Z1zQ&feature=plcp&context=C31237c6UDOEgsToPDskJalbNCcQZXcRbsSihhfhyy Quote
nielsvdv Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 interesting study :) i like your tatra! looks sturdy and drives quite well. my 8x8 can handle unbelievable slopes, i guess i have to rebuild it into a 4X4, but there is a 6X6 on my list with 2 back axles. i think that would work very good in slopes, as the weight on the front will rest on only 2 tyres like a 4X4. i believe the big difference between a 4X4 and an 8X8 is the "use" of weight on the front axles. a 4X4 delivers more weight on the front, so maybe it has more grip. you didn't went as far as a 12X12? here is my addition to the test :) Quote
jorgeopesi Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 Yours is awesome, I say that the 4x4 is better because in the spanish rules for trials we can only use two motors XL for propulsion, if you use more wheels you loose efficient like I am study in the videos. Another rules are 25 studs of width between wheels, only one trasmision with fake engine conected or steering system for wheels not like in yours, I have in my head a big 12x12, not for competition only for pleasure but I need more motors and more wheels .
