NotoriousPYG Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 If I'm going to use LDD as a design tool, I don't want to be left counting pieces. If we could extract a brisklist from LDD, we could then use that to order from the pick-a-brick store. Maybe then if we pick our bricks, add them to cart and then select "5 of", we could get 5 versions of our bagged model (hopefully in separate bags). Has anyone else tried this? Quote
AndyC Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 You can get a parts list by creating HTML versions of the instructions, it'll put a parts list at the end. Alternatively you can use Superkalle's LDD Manager software which has the added benefit that it can create a Bricklink wanted list to help with purchasing the parts from there. Quote

Nice, where do I download Superkalle's LDD Manager software? Quote
NiceMarmot Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 There's also a program called WantedBricks that works for this too (see this post). I've used both that and LDD Manager, and they will both export a BrickLink wanted list XML file. By the way, if you maintain your set and part inventory in BaseBrick (and you should), you can now compare a BL wanted list XML file (like that generated by LDD Manager) against your part inventory, see what parts you're missing, and create a revised wanted list XML file for just the missing parts. So then you can go from LDD design to BrickLink wanted list without any manual data entry! Quote

Otherwise it's a great piece of software. In some respects even better then LDD Manager since it doesn't require Access to run. Quote
