Tancred_de_Beauville Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 (edited) Classic Lego house, after some cars and fire depot I got this awesome set. In this set are many different pieces - some of them has been my first ones as glasses and grey trash. So what we have in this set? Whole set - small house with grill, a table with four chairs, white red sunshade, small classic Lego Town car, camper with trailer carrying classical motorboat. Not to forget to mention - there are four minifigures - two men and two ladies. The house contains a mix of white, red and yellow bricks with few black ones. Some of 101 elements contains this building (without glasses, thrash etc.). Front Rear Some other view from left side Small red car (28 bricks), classic one - many others cars looked similar to it - like - 6506 Precinct Cruiser. Camper (102 bricks) with trailer (30 bricks) carrying motorboat (25 bricks) - I never thinked that so many elements can be used for such vehicle - there are many small pieces indeed. There is also some place for a bike on the rear of camper. Four minifigs, two couples - unhappily they had been blinded fo a moment: As I mentioned before there are couple of interesting elements - which should give fun for anyone, especially kid. Bricks used for building this exciting set: Small car: Camper: Trailer: Motorboat: House: Not to mention, but still I own original box - so here you are: Front: Inside: Rear: Instruction - first page (the others are scanned in this pdf.): So after friend graduation Lorena took key from her parents to this small house to make her friend suprise . Conclusions: Number - 6388 (1472) Name – Vacation House (1472) or Holiday Home with Campervan (6388) Theme – Classic Town Year – 1987 under 1472, 1989 under 6388 Minifigs – 4 Pieces – at least 284 (without special elements like thrash or minifigures), via Brickpedia 334 Price – unknown for me (maybe tomorrow I will find it on net) What we get? We get great set for both girls and boys - mix of both genders are equal (unhappily in old sets there are much more male figures). Two road vehicles, motorboat with her carriers, beautiful vacation house with goodly equiped kitchen - grill with some meat on it. Thrash and some other stuff to keep area clean. Maybe there should be some space for sleeping, but this is only one minus I think. At last - I think Lego miss such sets today - there are much more police or firefighters than any others - in old sets there where many houses, maybe Lego should ressurect some of they old sets - give them new minifigures, upraded vehicles? Hope you don't waste your time reading this . P.S. I would like to add photos of vehicles, but still I fought with light - those photos need to be done again (hope to attach them soon). If you see mistake, write - I still learning. Edited February 1, 2012 by Tancred_de_Beauville Quote
slovakiasteph Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 I love these classic LEGO set reviews! I'm mentioning it now because I just built this set last night. I don't have the original set or the instructions, but I used my pieces and instructions online. Quote
iElkie Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Thanks for this review! I used to have this set before my Dark Ages so it brought back some great memories. The camper was one of my favorite Lego vehicles back then. Quote

I think that with some new elements, new small cabriolet and camper this set should be at time in modern time. I thinked about writing this review about a week and still I would put some pictures of camper (I hope to do it soon). I usually added a wall in space beetwen kitchen and grill. Thanks for this review! I used to have this set before my Dark Ages so it brought back some great memories. The camper was one of my favorite Lego vehicles back then. Thanks too, I try to do the best . Camper is really cool, still it lack something lack place to sleep - its more likely to be used as transporter for minifigs. Quote
Lorentzen Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 (edited) Thanks for your review - I am so much in love with these old classic houses (you can see for yourself in my "Classic House" article found in my signature) I may have jizzed a little in my pants when I saw the original box - to me, the box is such a huge part of the LEGO experience - I have actually managed to buy myself poor in boxes that I lost for some of my old sets from when I was a kid. Keep 'em coming (your reviews that is) oh btw, some of your bricks could use a good cleaning Thanks Edited January 30, 2012 by Lorentzen Quote

Keep 'em coming (your reviews that is) oh btw, some of your bricks could use a good cleaning Thanks Thanks Kristian, I read your pdf. with buildings some time ago - but don't own account here. Great article for me - it rememorized me some part of my childhood (although I don't own many classic houses). Box - this one happily survived because I must hide somewhere Lego many years ago, survived along few others large boxes and few medium. Those boxes where great with all those ideas to inspire builder. This strange, whole set was cleaned with hot water and washing liquid - still without desired succes for some parts (roof still look unclean btw). Hope to add some others reviews in a time (I saw some great sets I own don't have them). Thanks Quote
