I need a bit of advice, I've seen a set I want to buy off a shop on bricklink the problem is I've neveer used it before and not sure how you go about it. Do I put it in the basket and checkout or is better to contact the seller before-hand as its quite expensive (for me anyway). Has any one ever had any problems with it before? any help would be appreicated. thanks

After registering with Bricklink to 'Buy' lect the store, read the 'Splas and Terms' as they tell you things about postage and minimum spends and so on. If you are then you can put it in your basket, go to the checkout. It usually asks how you will pay. You get a selection, the usual sort of thing, paypal, crdeit debit card and so on. Sometimes it asks what postage option you want, depending o what the seller offers.

Then you wait. The seller should send you an invoice for the cost and any postage. Once you get it, which is usually within a day I find (If not quicker.) you can pay using whichever method you have said. Then they send you the item. After that you and they both leave appropriate feedback, similar to e-bay.

I have over a hundred purchases from them and have had no problems at all. I tend to use the same sellers though so I guess you build a raport with them. I have had many times when I have ordered in the morning, been invoiced within the hour and paid within the next hour, then the product has arrived in the post the very next day! I think the longest I've had to wait is a week. Generally it is a very good service.

The only down side I can think of, (And it is really down to your control.) is that it is easy to get carried away and go there for a few things and come away with thousands, thinking that a few extra pence will not hurt. Having said that you can always review your basket prior to checkout and remove anything you have gone mad with, to bring the price in line with what you wanted to spend.

But I would say, if you want the set and are happy with the price (Even if it is a bit expensive.) then the chances are you will get a good service as long as you pa on time.
