Have not tried those, but have you seen these?

These work pretty well and can easily be driven by a motor by adding a 16t gear into the hubs.

damn, that's good. they seem to perform perfectly, and they look great.

an ideal app for an unusual element. that's how stripes are earned.

allanp: No, I haven't tried those ones, but have heard they don't work too well.

I'll order the x939's anyway, but was curious if anyone had used them before.

The first picture isn't mine (click on it).

I think the 24t gear simply moves the rubbers by contact, it means that any gear can serve... what a good idea!. I love tracked machines and I know someone who is going to get rubbers... .

Ohh i see it now, before i thought that the connecters meshed directly with the gear.

You could use a train motor. It'll only go forward or backward, no turns. There seems to be enough friction between the rubber tracks and the wheels to move the thing.

uh, i may be wrong but i'm pretty sure it's the 32291 connectors that are make contact with the gear.

any gear can serve

possibly, but the connectors would have to be spaced appropriately for the chosen gear size.

let me correct myself: the spacing would remain the same regardless of the gear size, but i believe a 16t gear would present a radius too small to accomodate the connector.

The only function of 32291 brick is to make the chains not to escape fron undercarriage. The 32291 always goes between 24th gear and the 57520 wheel whitout touch anything, let me know if you have another reason for it.

let me know if you have another reason for it.

you'll be the first to know.

but now that i take another look at it, it would seem that the connectors do, indeed, prevent slippage.

*snip*

Thanks for that! I've ordered the parts, so we'll see how it goes.

using the train motor gave me a idea to how you could make a steerable tracked vehicle though it require 2 of them an some sort of center link so it be kinda like mahjqa's lil track vehicles though need a 9V battery box an possibly a micro motor an a mini LA to steer it in the center an working with studded construction to make the body go around the receiver an wiring an such. Just a crazy idea >.>

I tried that. Just a little bit bigger

but the problem is that the turning is not fast

With al tracks powerd it want to go straight forward
