drakke Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Hello! I recently adquired the set 6074 "Black Falcons fortress" and I wished to do an 80's ambiance MOC with it. Hope you like it! Quote
smitty9999 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Great work. I really like it when people incorporate complete sets into a MOC. Quote
Nagyzee Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 This invokes childhood memories. My BFF was also besieged by forestmen countless times.:) Quote
brickbuilder007 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Ya the black falcons, its my most favorite castle great job!!!! Box 6086 is my next favorite castle, I made an extended version of it, and I gonna post it soon.... Keep up the good work! Quote
morganm Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 I too had this set as a kid... one of my favorites. Second only to the Black Seas Barracuda. You've done it great justice here; well played. Quote
Galaxy Explorer Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 That looks great! Black Falcon's Fortress was my first Castle set ever, and still one of my favorites. Your MOC reminds me of the great photographs in the old product catalogs. Quote
Vindicare Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Very nice landscape there. I like your rock work the castle is sitting upon, and the entry ramp blends in nicely to the land. Quote
Mencot Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Nice moc of one of my favorite Lego castles. Good example of a MOC where you use a original set and build extras around it. Great job Quote
KristofBD Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Nice MOC - true to the atmosphere of the 1980s! Quote
Brinstar Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 (edited) A great way of displaying the Black Falcon's fortress. I look forward to see what you've done with 6086, my favorite lego castle. Edited January 19, 2012 by Brinstar Quote
drakke Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 (edited) Thank you all for the support! Im glad you liked it. I know that "smiley" old lego faces dont add much realism to the MOC, but in the 80s thats all lego castle had, so I decided to use them. I look forward to see what you've done with 6086, my favorite lego castle. Im sorry, but I dont have 6086 (I wish I had!) I have some sort of scenery idea to include "Sea Serpent" in another 80's MOC though. Edited January 20, 2012 by drakke Quote
Tria Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I just won a 6074 in ebay and you just gave a very good idea how to make it looking more complete! Thanks! Quote
natesroom Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I just won a 6074 in ebay and you just gave a very good idea how to make it looking more complete! Thanks! for 76 dollars...aarg! i was gonna bid on that when it was 36 but i figured it would go for more then i wanted to pay Quote
ZCerberus Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Nice work. I think this maybe more of a super duper MOD than a MOC, but you added some nice detail! Linking this to the "update my classic castle" thread! Quote
Tria Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 for 76 dollars...aarg! i was gonna bid on that when it was 36 but i figured it would go for more then i wanted to pay I dont think we speak for the same auction... I bought it from ebay.de In fact the seller has also 6080 and I ve won both of them... 59,10euro for 6080 51,50e for 6074 6,50e shipping for both complete and in very good condition but no box Its not a super score, but IMO its a decent purchase... I really wanted these two castles! Quote
sharky Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I like it. There's something refreshing about taking an old set and adding more detail and making it your own. Seems like that is the essence of Lego to me. I like the fact that you used classic faces. It lets you know that it's still a classic set. Quote
Watchman Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I really like what you've done - the simplicity of that awesome set (the sweet smell of nostalgia) with a bit of love thrown and some landscaping - perfect ! Quote
