theozboy Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 (edited) Apoligies if this has been posted/discussed before, I've read through the 8110 MOC topic and didn't see it mentioned there. (all 40 odd pages too!) Stumbled over this designers blog entry today and thought it was interesting. It seems that it was intentional and to my mind makes sense. No mention of the wooly/hard steering tho. I've left my mog panhard rod orginal, mainly because I don't think that half a hole out is a great deal or paticularly noticable. However I will be replacing the knob gears and retrofitting axles instead of friction pins in the steering joints as the poor steering is a bit rubbish really... *edit to insert hyperlink as have now made 5 posts! Probably not that surprising as i'm an agricultural engineer by trade... tractors aren't generally known for their suspension or lack of... especially the old nails I've worked on! Quote
vmln8r Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 From TBs: 'A Panhard should be as long as possible to minimize lateral displacement as the bar swings through its arc.' So I wonder why 6L links were used instead of 9L links, like this: Quote
