El Garfio Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I was working on it this morning. It pretends to be a building with a car dealer business in the bottom. I like how it looks like but a 4 studs wide car hardly enters in the "shop" for being exhibited. I'm in a dilema, I would prefer do my MOC's bigger but I don't want them go out of my hands (and out of my pocket) and being out of pieces soonely. But if I do the MOC's in an afforable scale, I can hardly put anything inside. I hope you like it in spite of the pic that was awfull (taken by my cellular, I'm sorry). Quote
bootz Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Perhaps you could free up some room by making the building only one floor? Otherwise, aside from the space issue, its looking pretty good. Do you have a car for the showroom? Quote
El Garfio Posted January 14, 2012 Author Posted January 14, 2012 I have been working a bit more on it: I finished the second floor wall and I added some furniture and a car. When I have a moment I will take some pictures with a good digital camera and I will share them to you. Quote
brickbuilder711 Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Not bad of a job, I really like the structure. The grooved detail in the second floor is a great idea, looks very industrial. If you opt to put cars in the first floor as is my recommendation is the small cars, with the 7x4 base. Those are probably available at the PAB walls, or online. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Interesting start 'El Garfio', I like the upper floor...is the lower floor tall enough ? Planning a tiled floor are we ? Are your vehicles 4 wide or 6 wide ? A workshop and spare parts department ? These pictures of my two different style car dealers might help you. I look forward to your creation getting bigger and better......Brick On 'El Garfio' ! Quote
El Garfio Posted January 14, 2012 Author Posted January 14, 2012 I toke my inspiration from the set 10184 The car showed is obviously a 4 stud wide (My 6 wide pickup doesn't enter. At first I put the grooves in the interior side of the wall, but then I see that it looked better by the exterior. I have some new pics, I hope you like them: Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Okay, it's nice but with that size car....the ceiling is too low and how do you get the car out for a test drive....run over the salesperson ? Neat upstairs offices though 'El Garfio'....actually your design is a little like this..... Fused with this (though similar to the service station in 2008 Town Plan)..... Looks good anyway on the outside.....have a brand or logo ready yet for the roof sign ? Quote
bootz Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Looking better, but it needs to be bigger. Here's mine for some inspiration. Quote
rriggs Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 how do you get the car out for a test drive.... Just drive out the back - there's no wall... Cheers Rog Quote
jth781 Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Neat idea ive been wanting to add a car dealership to my city. I would make yours larger onto a 32x32 plate but I like the building design. Quote
El Garfio Posted January 14, 2012 Author Posted January 14, 2012 I know that bigger and taller would be better. I apreciate your suggestions because I'm a novice. (thanks for the pics). I got some LEGO city sets for Christmas, before that I have only built some vehicles from a compatible brand but sporadically. Now, I'm a little hooked, and I pass hours at the Net seeing pics for learning and taking inspiration. At this moment, I deconstruct all my creations quickly, when I build something that it seems me "professional" I will take it a professional finish (Stickers, studless pavement,...). Quote
