Smrgol Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 As you all know I am new to MOCing etc and was wondering if, assuming there isnt a list already, someone to tell me all of the basics that people should know when MOCing. I know that there are some fantastic designs out there, and what I am looking for is designs for gearing for axles, steering set ups, I'm sure I have seen a linear actuator somewhere, raisers (or what ever they are called - the things to raise an arm on a pivot e.g. cranes etc). And anything else that is important to know. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Here is a linear actuator idea i came up with, you can find free instrutions at the bottom of the first reply. linear actuator For gearing i am not very good at that myself, but remember that gearing up (fast but not powerful) is when you have a big grear then a small gear, gearing down (slower but powerfull) is when you have a small gear and then a big gear.
