Due to demand in events for GBC circuits, it could be a great idea bring back this balls.

A lot of examples of modules are in my Blog, with GBC Tag:

Bricklink prices are horrible for large quantities, and new GBC builders don't have chance to have them for his first module.

I'm sure AFOL and TFOL even will pay for a set with a standard pack for a GBC module.

Even if TLC consider produce it in new colors and moulds it will be awsone rainbow coloured modules or mindstorms NXT colour sensor.

Please, leave you support in CUUSOO (Write price for 30 balls, a standard hopper capacity)

Thanks!

@ Parda: I supported your Lego Cuusoo Re-edition proposal. Have you considered using Lego 54821 BIONICLE ZAMOR SPHERES in your Great Ball Contraption (GBC) modules to supplement your footballs and basketballs? They are slightly larger (~16mm diameter vs. ~14mm), but they come in MANY COLORS and patterns, and they seem to be made of the same kind of plastic.

You could possibly order new Zamor Spheres via "Lego Direct" (Lego Customer Service) since they are in recent (2011) sets. Their price may be less than the price of Bricklink footballs/soccerballs and basketballs. Get TLG's telephone number by going to Shop.Lego.com, and then scrolling to the bottom to see the "Contact Us" hyperlink. The Lego Element ID for the Zamor Sphere part is 4545430; you will need this to order your Zamor Spheres.

The criteria for ordering parts from "Lego Direct":

a) The parts must be from Lego sets sold within the past five years. The footballs/soccerballs and basketballs have not been produced in recent sets; some were in 2006 sets.

b) One must know the Lego Element ID (not the Bricklink part number) for the part(s) you want. Use Bricklink to find out what set(s) the part(s) appeared in, then use the Lego Customer Service Building Instructions website to download the PDF file. The visual Parts List is usually on the last few pages of the instruction booklets. The Lego Element ID is that strange code number beneath each part.

c) One can order up to 15 different line items (not just 15 individual pieces) at a time. If you want more line items, call back the next day with a separate order.

d) Until an item is sold out, there is no limit on the number of pieces ordered on each line item. You need to know the desired color of the parts you want; they may not have all colors available.

e) One must use a Credit Card.

The problem with zamor spheres is shortage in large quantities. Think about the demand is every GBC MOC builder in the World change it balls to zamos spheres... There won¡t be enough to stack demand and prices will even raise more expensive.

Apart from this, consider geometrical size of this esphere. Many modules will become useless due to this change.

I am not an expert in plastic inyection, but sure that if TLC try to "un-bury" Sport Balls moulds, this will be a profit for commnunity and TLC itself.

Think about how many "expansion packs" with 50x or 100x balls they could sell, furthermore, a "first GBC module set" will be an option for those kids who want to build his first module...

Anyway... As far as I have seen, many TFOLS who want to start in GBC stands back because of this shortage of cheap balls... that's why i have suggested this reedition in Technic Delicatessen and Cuusoo.

Thanks for your support :sweet:

In addition to the said by Blastem ( my new partner at the blog) The sports balls have better quality than zambor spheres.

I have loved watching videos of the machines that use them and always thought they came from some other toy set or something lol.

I'll happily add my support to Cuusoo for the project, but have no idea what sort of value to put on them, any hints?

I have suggested in Cuuso description price for a bunch of 30 balls (a standard hopper capacity or transfer rate per minute)

1 dollar for 30 balls seems fair :classic:

Thanks for your support. It would be fantastic a reedition with different colors! :cry_happy:

I supported too.

I really want to make a GBC, but I don't want to spend so much money on Bricklink, just for some balls. For that price, I can better buy some more usfull lego pieces :sceptic:
