Matresyoyo Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Hey I just recently got the Lego 8070 and I'm wanting to mod it to have a convertible roof similar to the B-Model. Is there a clean way to motorize the roof to be convertible using the same parts plus a little extra from the 8258 set (Crane Truck :) ) (Crane Truck B-Model) The only moding I've done to it so far is a poor attempt to fix the baboon butt. (Sorry for the stock pictures. I can't take pictures, I don't have any type of camera ). I'm willing to steal the motors from the 8258 set but I don't know if a little battery pack can run a large and a regular pf motor. Also is there anyway to hide the battery box, no matter where I tried to hide it it doesn't fit or its budging something. I'm a rookie to modding Quote
DLuders Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 @ Matresyoyo: Welcome to Eurobricks! I have not seen a 8070 Lego Technic Super Car CONVERTIBLE. However, on his Brickshelf gallery, Cypr-21 posted his modification to the 8070's ugly "Baboon butt" . Cypr-21 used a 8869 / bb339c01 Power Functions Control Switch/ Pole Reverser Switch to avoid pushing the battery box's tiny orange switch to change motor direction: Quote
basbase Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Welcome to the forums dokludi mentioned his cabriolet mod in this thread. You can find more pictures of his mod here Quote

I wish I could buy the rechargeable battery pack and the pneumatics in the LEGO store, but I think you can only get them online. The rechargable battery pack takes up SO MUCH less space than the chunky stock and my little panel covering it up makes it look like it's got bubble butt. Also does the power functions pack at the LEGO store come with IR receiver and controller, or is that online only too? Edited January 7, 2012 by Matresyoyo Quote
