tachiko Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) hopefully have this finished within a few days, so will be using this thread to post updates. I'm not entirely keen on the semi skeletal look of my 8070, so using the farings from my various sets im going to try and model more or less the entire exterior of the car (within reason). the main side panels are roughly done already and i think they're working quite nicely too! This is the car i'm hoping to make. Heres my progress so far. Edited January 5, 2012 by tachiko Quote
timslegos Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 looks good so far! post more when you have some more progress. tim Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Nice! I love your choice of car to model this moc after. I've always wanted to take a '74-'77 Celica and drop in a 1uz-fe V8 from a Lexus in it. Progress looks good! Nice job fitting all those panels together. Quote
DLuders Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 @ tachiko: Since you are building your model using STUDLESS Lego Technic pieces, you may find that you will have to build it from the inside-out (not from the outside-in like you are doing so far). You should build your Lego Technic drivetrain and wheelbase first, and then fit the body around it. Quote

Yeah i plan to, i'm just mocking up the shell for the time being so i know what lengths i need for the chassis and where mounting points will be, etc. Quote

aposaric Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I really like the modeling of the bodywork, it is nice and clean. Clever use or panels. Have fun Quote
