Has anyone been able to create a motorised version of the 8068 rescue helicopter?

I have tried, in my very limited skill capacity, and sort of got it working, however with the limited parts I have it wasn't very stable and the gear jumped after the first attempt, which meant re-aligning the gear and holding it before starting the motor again.

I basically jerry-rigged the m-motor in to the back below the tail with a sling to hold it up dropping from the tail and some 1x2 flat pieces to help keep the front of the motor stable. Then after pulling the body apart and adding a simple gearing that allowed a small cog to be added to the bottom of the rotor gearing it would work and a pretty good speed (the additional gear was the same as the existing ones so it stayed at 1:1).

Oh, the other problem I didn't solve was where to add the battery pack.

However, I would like to see if anyone has managed a better design than me (I took it back to basic as I really wanted to rebuild my 8109 set lol

Thread bump.

I just built this set the other day and love it. I too was wondering how feasible it would be to motorize the rotor function. Has anyone done it successfully?
