Hi all,

New here and just installed LDD 4 today. When I go into the preferences the 'Outlines on Bricks' check-box is greyed out. After doing some research it seems that LDD 4 has deemed my graphics card to be sub-par. Well I do not mind a little lag if its too much for it.

Can someone with LDD 4, and who has 'Outlines on Bricks' checked please open their preferences.ini file and post back what the entry is for that? For example if you have the 'High-quality of bricks places in the scene' checked then there is an entry that says this:

UseShadersInScene=yes

I realize this may cause LDD to crash, but I can always take that line back out.

Thanks,

livens

@ Livens: Welcome to Eurobricks! :classic: Try this:

Once you are in LDDextended mode, press Edit-->Preferences. There is a little slider bar at the bottom of that screen to adjust the Compatibility Mode Level. Mine is slid all the way to the left (off).

Since you seem to have a capable computer, try setting the Advanced Graphics while you are on the Preferences screen. You can outline the individual bricks in white outlines, and set up high-quality rendering and shading. :thumbup:

P.S. I recommend reading Superkalle's "LDD Graphics and General Troubleshooting Guide" topic.

It's not obvious which line in preferences is responsible, however I believe it's entirely dependent upon whether your graphics card supports Pixel Shader 3 shaders or not, so if it's greyed out it's never going to work with your card.
