blaz62 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) Last week i wanted make drive for snowmobile, but i'm created this 2 speed gearbox. Is very simple for build, so I added instructions. Happy new year!! Edited December 31, 2011 by blaz62 Quote
allanp Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 looks like you could put more motors and diffs next to each other to get more speeds. Quote
Mud Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Quite tidy, but there's no real need for the second differential as evidenced by you locking one of the shafts. You may be intentionally using the differential for a more desirable gearing on the second motor, but you could do this with plain gears. This would be arguably less pretty though! Quote
Dutch_EE Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 This design has a pro and a con Pro : The more speed, the more torque. 2nd gear means twice the speed, and twice the torque. Con : It isn't possible to increase torque as you lower the gear. This means that you can't use first gear to add power. Quote
blaz62 Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 Yes gear have constant torque/speed, you can't change it. Thanks! Quote
