mikka says Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 (edited) Hi all, ive been not around for a bit (due to pressures with finishing school ) but, i'd like to show you all of something that i am working on at the current time. using 6 wide, i found it impossible to get the lage chunky look to the model. so to counter this, i used a 7 wide body to get the look. the widening also inadvertently gives a lot of extra room to mount a motor and Power functions equpiment. Although there is more room, im still looking at the possibility at adding 2 9v batteries, intead of a batery box to cram more in. also i dislike the the "blocky" look of smokebox, so it has been modified to make it look more like the emerald night's boiler. seeing as when i can get my brick lists on bricklink, i hope to make this and hopefully will be rubbing shoulders with an EN. next render will be on mlcad with some BBB wheels.... till then, Mikk Edited December 31, 2011 by mikka says Quote
peterab Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Hi all, ive been not around for a bit (due to pressures with finishing school ) but, i'd like to show you all of something that i am working on at the current time. Mikk Hi Mikk, this looks like a very nice start, I eagerly await seeing it in the brick. I noticed you're in Australia too, so I'm not the only German train builder here. (Brickhead in Sydney almost counts but he builds Swiss stuff :-) I'm in Melbourne, where are you? Quote
mikka says Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 I'm in Melbourne, where are you? oh ha! another melbournian, yup, im joining M>ltc this year. just working on rebuilding the model in MLcad, one thing that does annoy me somewat about the exporting progress is that you loose some bricks... but apart from that im happy with my progress :) Quote
mikka says Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 (edited) UPdate- the locomotive has successfully been completed in ML cad, and on bricklink purchasing parts... Edited December 31, 2011 by mikka says Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 This beauty looks great! I hope to see soon this locomotive in real lego! Quote
peterab Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 oh ha! another melbournian, yup, im joining M>ltc this year. Will you be coming to Brickvention? It's pretty much the highlight of our year, and I'd love to have someone to geek out about German trains with. By the way why do you start in LDD if you are going to export to LDraw anyway wouldn't building in LDraw to start with be easier? Quote

mikka says Posted December 31, 2011 Author Posted December 31, 2011 (edited) Will you be coming to Brickvention? ~cutting~ jibbly jibbly jibbly... wouldn't building in LDraw to start with be easier? Okay question one, Yes. i totally cant wait, im planning on buying tickets in the next week. and Question 2,the fact with LDD, i find it easier with larger models as i honestly dislike some of the Mlcad interface. the fact you cannot lock bricks in position and the model even though losing some parts through the export, the model is mostly pre-built to finish off in ML. EDIT- @Brickster, all images are under the image size, apologies for my ignorance of rules Edited December 31, 2011 by mikka says Quote

Sir E Fullner Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 She's a beauty. I wouldn't mind building one of those myself. Quote
