El Bucanero Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 This house was actually meant for a pirate, but I thought you castle fans might like it, since you are the experts on this, your comments critisim and advices are very welcome! Sorry for the big pics, and for the pirate stuff, maybe I take some pictures of it with castle stuff later... La folder Quote
Norro Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Very nice! Were you inspired by the Blacksmith Shop? No need to apologise for the 'piratey' interior, there is a lot of cross over. For example: Many of my interiors could be MODed to pirate with ease: here, here, and here. Pirate figs are excellent for 'crewing' castle scenes and I think the reverse would hold true as well (With slightly more caution). So thanks for sharing! God Bless, Nathan Quote
Djole Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Well, nice house Mr Tiber... You were definitly inspired by Blacksmith Shop, as many others do... That treasure chamber is a really nice touch, I used to do things like that many times, just put skeleton somewhere and throw gold and jewels on him... It was always misteriosly beautiful... NICE As for the cannon and boat inside the house... well, it Quote
El Bucanero Posted September 30, 2006 Author Posted September 30, 2006 Well, lot of people think I am inspired by Blacksmith shop, but I am not, I don't even own that set... Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Nice MOC. It actually reminds me of not the Blacksmith Shop, but rather one of the very old idea books from the early 80s. They had a house similar with a red or blue roof. I'll try to find a picture. Here it is. I have this somewhere in the house, but the house reminds me of the house on the cover page: Quote
El Bucanero Posted February 25, 2007 Author Posted February 25, 2007 Okay, this thread is... Very old. But I have something to tell about this MOC: It fell of my three feet high table... Bleh. But this allows me to Castle-ize it so, more pictures will come soon! Have a nice day, Mr Tiber Quote
Asuka Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 So.... this was a lucky fall perhaps? There is timing in the whole life of the warrior, in his thriving and declining, in his harmony and discord. Similarly, there is timing in the Way of the merchant, in the rise and fall of capital. All things entail rising and falling timing. You must be able to discern this.Miyamoto Musashi Or for sure? What to do if you find yourself stuck with no hope of rescue: Consider yourself lucky that life has been good to you so far. Alternatively, if life hasn't been good to you so far, which given your present circumstances seems more likely, consider yourself lucky that it won't be troubling you much longer.Douglas Adams (1952 - 2001), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy :-D Quote
El Bucanero Posted February 25, 2007 Author Posted February 25, 2007 So.... this was a lucky fall perhaps?Or for sure? :-D Perhaps... It has inspired me to start building castle again... BTW, I love that last quote! I saw the movie and it was hilarous! (strange but hilarous! :-D ) Quote
Berry Syedow Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Perhaps... It has inspired me to start building castle again... Hurrah! Does this also mean that you'll be buying some of 2007's Castle sets? Quote
El Bucanero Posted February 25, 2007 Author Posted February 25, 2007 Hurrah! Does this also mean that you'll be buying some of 2007's Castle sets? But offcourse! I was already sure I'll buy some after it was confirmed there's actually going to be a new Castle theme... Quote
lone_buffalo Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Not to complicated but seems easy enough to build to me (and that's saying something) X-D . It is a brilliant creation. :-) Quote
DARKspawn Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Very nice :-) I am not a fan of the mottled stone on this one (& in general, really) but it has a great look & shape - very functional. Can't wait to see the castle version! Quote

Scouty Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Mr. Tiber is betraying the Pirate Community :'-( :-P . Nice home... *y* . Now, do you live in it or... :-P Quote
DARKspawn Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Thanks! Do you think I should keep it one colour for the grey part? I think I'll keep it to light grey...Mr Tiber Definitely keep it one colour & light grey, although I think that it looks cool having 1x2 Dark Grey bricks on the corners like this example from my own work, I have seen it done with SNOT tiles too, which looks most effective. & Besides the arch on the lower floor, which is still cool, I don't think it looks like the Blacksmith's Shop too much at all :-) Quote
