Elander Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 (edited) Heyho, at the time I'm absolute overexcited. Next year begins LEGO LotR and the Hobbit! My dream come true! And that is the reason why I now start moccing And here is my first LotR MOC: The Blacke Gate A door and two towers. The main part from the Black Gate. The left and the right site is open -if I want to add this MOC with an larger wall are bricks included with these I can connect this part. But at first I need more black bricks. [if TLG produces the Black Gate as LEGO set my dream would be an kind of addition set for the left and the right site. In CREATOR style for a wall part and a tower part. This addition set could be integrated into a large Battle Pack like Uruk-hai Army.] Ok, enough from my wishes, back to my MOC. I've tried to give the gate/wall and the both towers many details like this spire crenellations. Yes, I do know. The wall is too short and the towers are too big. I promise, my next Black Gate will be better. The error went unnoticed (not before it was too late). Ok, I hope you like it. I've tried to create the main characters Saurons Mounth and King Elasser (Aragorn). Also a Easterling. And at last the complete company: I hope the black colours are at the images good enough. to photograph these black colours at the front from the white wall is not easy. Ok, have fun. deskp Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 (edited) Looks really good! Hope to see more lotr mocs from you. Yes, I do know. The wall is too short and the towers are too big. I promise, my next Black Gate will be better. I like the scale of things, cause it is similar to how TLC makes their sets wich I'm found of. When I see colloassal moc models of buildings sure they looks cool and that but it is unrealistic as something we can hope for tlc to produce. I do really hope we get easterling minifigures at some point! Edited December 26, 2011 by deskp Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I agree, great work 'Elander'.....I can guess that any of your MOC's for LOTR will be W-I-P's till you score the new figures and weapons ? Brick On in Middle Earth ! Quote
Ash Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I like it. Especially the detail on the gates and towers. Quote
KnightSnap Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Great MOC. I think it is a great scale for an actual Lego set. The gates do look quite forbinng which is excellent. Quote
Gabe Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 That looks great Elander! Perhaps not to scale as you say, but instantly recognisable as the Black Gate. I'd love to see an function where you could pull a couple of trolls along the battlements to open the gate though, that'd be sweet. ps. Nice work on the Mouth of Sauron btw - great head choice! Quote
Seaber Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 I really like the scale to be honest :) It is similar to the scale Lego do things in, and you've made a good job of it! Hopefully Lego will give us a black gate with a few beautiful Easterling helmets/shields/pikes :) Mouth of Sauron is great too :D Quote
