PFtrainsman Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Hi Lego train enthusiests. My name is Sandy and I live in Central Florida, USA. I've recently converted a Lego Santa Fe loco from 9v to PF. I have a question concerning lighting the loco with a lego electric light brick and using power function cables to power it. I read somewhere where the power function extention cable was backward compatible but I don't see how based on the lego# 8871 cable I have. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and Happy Holidays to all. Quote
medib Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 That's just a PF extension chord. You want to get 8886 Power Extension Chord: The one end has the 9V metal ends so you can use the 9v "legacy" stuff like the light, motors, etc. I hope that helps. Quote
AndyC Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 That's just a PF extension chord. You want to get 8886 Power Extension Chord: Even the 8871 PF extension cable should do, the underside of one of the plugs is an old-style 9V connector, just like on 8886 (in fact the only difference is the cable length). kyphur Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Or you could just use a PF LED Light mounted in a Technic Brick 1 x 2 with hole... Quote
PFtrainsman Posted December 23, 2011 Author Posted December 23, 2011 Thanks everyone, your suggestions worked. I now have a Santa Fe loco with working headlight. Sandy Quote
