sofo13th Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Hi! This is The Bandit Hummvy (Hi-Mobility Multi-Purposed Wheeled Vehicle - HMMWV) from the Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. In this model, I tried to get as close to the original design and still fill the model functionality. Weapon rotate at the base. For work suspension need rubbers between the selected elements. Scale - about 1:30. A little too big for minifigs. :) LDD-file Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Not bad digital creation 'sofo13th', nice gun on the back ! Brick On Fight On 'sofo13h' ! Quote
Laura Beinbrech Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 While I consider The Spirits Within to be Final Fantasy in name only and a rather lame movie, I will admit it had some cool power armor and vehicles in it, and you did an excellent job of re-creating the Bandit. Personally, I don't really see anything wrong with the scale you used. Quote
Henchmen4Hire Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I think you could definitely scale this down for the minifigures, but I don't know what the original model is supposed to look like. Interesting shape, pretty cool! Quote
brickmack Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Looks nice. I haven't seen Spirits Within, but it looks good from the pictures I found on google. Nice suspension design too. Doesn't look like the front wheels turn though, a bit disappointing. Otherwise, great MOC. Quote
sofo13th Posted December 24, 2011 Author Posted December 24, 2011 (edited) I keep forgetting that this movie for almost 10 years, and many do not see it. So a few pictures of original taken from the "Final Fantasy Wiki". This article is about the Bandit Hope I didn't break the forum rules. :) I chose this transport because it's cool looks: open body, 4 passenger seats in the cabin, a lot of curved surfaces. And as a result under suspension has very little space. So there is a semblance of turning wheels. And the fact that the rotation of the front wheels are not very big, so it's even good on the contrary, otherwise the wheels touching body. :) I can offer a more compact and more workable variant: True, I still think how to make a output turning control from this axles.
