Darkdragon Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 This was a little project for a Brickwarriors forum contest. It was my very first time painting minifigure gear and I learned a lot from the experience. I thought I'd share with MCW folks here on EB in case you guys have an tips for next time. Normally I'm a purist minifig customizer (occasionally adding a 3rd party weapon/gear), but I did enjoy making these and might be trying my hand again soon. [on Flickr] ----- Do you really think Santa Claus is married? No. He works too much and eats too many cookies. His top security guard is code name "Mrs.Claus" and she is good at her job. With her associate security elves taking the rear guard positions, Santa is safe from all Scrooges another year. Quote
Hobbestimus Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Very nice. Love the "christmas lights" on the shoulder pads. Quote
kotaco Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Thats awesome. What did you use to paint the shotgun? Quote
Si-MOCs Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 HAHAHA that's awesome. No more dog bites for Santa! Quote
Darkdragon Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 Thanks everyone. Thats awesome. What did you use to paint the shotgun? The gun itself was originally red. First, I put a white basecoat on all the parts I wanted to paint. I mixed my own paint for the metal from a "metallic silver" and "ebony black" of the Micheal's craft's brand Americana (acrylic paint). For the lines I mixed "primary red" and "ebony black" (and diluted quite a bit). Quote
Flipz Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 LOVE the face for "Mrs. Claus!" Man, I wish I had it, it's so underused!! Quote
Puck Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 (edited) Ha Ha! Cool! I love how Santa is sweating like he's scared of the Mrs. Awesome! -Puck Edited May 10, 2012 by Puck Quote
helikopteros Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Fantastic - the pendulous red Christmas balls on her breastplate are a hilariously fun finishing touch. Quote
Darkdragon Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Fantastic - the pendulous red Christmas balls on her breastplate are a hilariously fun finishing touch. Thanks! I wasn't sure anyone noticed those ;) Her armour is suppose to resemble a decorated Christmas tree. Quote
GeluNumber1 Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 (edited) Those are two awesome minifigs. I love the ornaments on her armouring, and that shotgun looks like it could stop any rabid raindeer with one shot. I'd buy these in two seconds. Edited February 14, 2012 by GeluNumber1 Quote
