I've recently watched a few westerns, and embarked on building a fully furnished saloon.

At the moment it's only the structure and outside, but I intend on adding minifigs and other details.

The project was started a few weeks ago and I've been working on it whenever I find the time.

It's largely inspired by some of the prominent western builders out in the Lego community today.

I apologize for the quality of the image, I was too lazy to take out my proper camera.

Here it is:

This is a great start Legorski!

I'll keep my eyes on you!:laugh:

Thanks! :blush::tongue:

It's sure is looking like a saloon  But I do think it can use some windows!

Actually, thats exactly what I'm working on at the moment.

Nice work so far - I especially like the siding, how is it held in place?

At the moment it's just placed there and held together by the friction,

I do however have a system developed that will hold it in place and keep it sturdy.

I cant really explain it with words, I was never the linguistic type.

I'll try to get a picture of the system in on the next update.

Looking very good! I can't wait to see this unfold. I like what I see.

Thank you!

I've finally gotten some time to work on the saloon some more.

The pics here so minimal progress, but I have much in mind and at the moment I'm playing around with a few things.

I'm probably going to finish the roof next, and then work on the inner details of it.

I've also included some figs I've made for the Saloon. I'd like to add more if I get any ideas.

So heres the update!

I once again apologize for the quality of the pics. I just dont have the time to get out a proper setup and take good pictures.

Very cool, the corner shape reminds me of the saloon from Red Dead Redemption, the one where you stake a claim to it, those who know it will know which one I mean. Also I bet you're itching for the series 6 cmf bandit, the prints on the legs and torso are awesome. The IJ legs are good for a western theme. So far so great, some landscaping will pull it together nicely, will this be a piece of a larger layout? I can imagine these kind of mocs to be really brown tile heavy. No real crits really.

Keep up the great work!

Cheers.

This is sorta my first shot of the western theme, but certainly not my last. I'd like to add more western buildings in following this.

And Thanks!

Looks really nice, and your crew of minifigs looks fun!

Thank you very much!

Yeah man, it's nice saloon.

Maybe you should change the plate with some in tan colour, It would more realistic then. Anyway, can't wait your next photos.

I'm planning on buying the tan 32x32 baseplate included in the Grand Emporium, which I do not have.

I'm using the grey baseplate at the moment just to have the entire build together.

I like the corner steps and the window treatments.

Overall good build so far. I can't wait to see more. And those minifigs look like they will fit right in. I've always liked the Western theme. I wonder if they will ever revive it.

Keep up the good work.

A great job so far, although I was looking forward to seeing athat siding system in place. The figures look great as well, although I agree, the CMF series was a boon to Western style construction.

I really love the walls with the angled tile panels. It looks really good.

Can't wait to see this as it progresses. (I have just finished watching deadwood and have created the characters, I just need to get around to building a scene).

Update # 3:

I've gotten some little bits of work done, finally figured out a way to get the roof done, also started to work and plan out the interior.

The Exterior is practically finished, only to roof detailing is left.

The inside,

The roof is going to be finished next most likely,

I'm having trouble planning out the interior workings with the given space, it'll probably take me the most time,

Comments, Criticisms and Whatnot Else always appreciated,

Wow, that's coming along nicely, I don't know what your brick supply is like but maybe change the dark bley plates on the steps, ground floor and first floor, could be dark brown, tan or dark tan. The glass windows could be changed to panes with shutters maybe? For the interior, tiles, bar, tables, piano and some ladies, the Flamenco dancer from the collectible minifigs would look good. Brickwarriors has an interesting ptototype card hand but would be a bit expensive to get a hold of and could do with some prints. Also will there be a sign on top? printed or brick built?
