CorneliusMurdock Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Is there any way I could add a poll to the topic? PM me with what you want in the poll and I'll get it done for you. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Thanks for the review. I am still on the fence about this set, but this shows a bit more to help me decide. I don't have the earlier version, so to be a completist, I would have to get this set. But seeing I already have the Funhouse, I don't really want/need two Jokers (even though his copter is pretty sweet). The Batwing is a must have for vehicle purposes, but I'd much rather see him in a batmobile or tumbler or batcycle. The henchman is certainly a must have for this set. I will wait and see how I feel when I hold onto the box, but I think I may pass. Keep up the good reviews. Quote
Grimmy Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 That is pretty awesome! So was the review :D But why does batman have a blank strip across his head? And why are his eyes not there when he has his mask on? Quote

GingerWookiee Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Great review. I realy enjoyed reading it. But I hope you know they are part of the DC Universe no the Marvel. Quote
VenVoi Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Thanks for the great review! It made me a lot more confident in having purchased the set at the TRU price. As Oky stated though, I am disappointed by these sets' exclusion of guns and other weaponry for the characters (aside from one or two batarangs). I feel like this is ignoring a major aspect of the Batman franchise. Oh well, Bricklink exists for a reason.. Quote
montgocloud Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 Yes GingerWookie, I do know they are part of the DC Universe And just out of curiosity, in the '06 Batman line, one of Batman's weapons was a Batarang with some sort of hole in the middle. Anybody know what that is? I have been confused for five years. Quote

Solscud007 Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 I actually prefer my first gen joker. The simple face and clean torso just looks nicer to me. Quote

Anybody know what that is? I have been confused for five years. I have no idea what it is but I use it as a remote-controlled baterang like in Arkham City. I actually prefer my first gen joker. The simple face and clean torso just looks nicer to me. As do I, the new overly detailed one just doesn't do it for me. Quote
Lance Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Call me crazy, but I actually love the simplicity of The Batwing It looks so sleek and attractive Anyway, thanks for the review! Wait, my posts are at 100 Quote
AndyC Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Picked this up the other day as I was looking for a cheap set with Batman in. Whilst the Joker's copter is definitely the better half of the set, I do like the Batwing more than I expected. I don't really get what the whole wing splitting thing is for but as the previous Batwing set did something similar I'm assuming it's based on some comic book version. Thankfully it's not difficult to lock the wings in place without upsetting the overall design, so not a big deal. I'm puzzled by the printing of Batman's head though, if the white stripe is there for his Batman eyes, what's the point of printing an actual face on it for? It's not like you can use that head without the cowl on, because that big white block sticks out like a sore thumb. If they'd wanted to include both styles a double sided head with Bruce's face on one side and the Batman stripe on the back would probably make more sense, at least a hair piece could then be used to hide it. Still definitely a solid 4 out of 5 set and a pleasant surprise. Quote

I think it is a good set, just a little over priced.Looking for this to go down and I'll definitely pick it up...before the wave disappears Quote
Zzz Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 There should hopefully be some time left before it leaves, I hope.. About the head with printed eyes, I assume this is to use it for either mask or hair, no? Don't have a picture at hand, sorry.. Thanks for the review! I have to admit I kind of like the small Batwing a lot, it's cute! I have the old one, still resting in it's box but I am considering exchanging it with the new one (plus some bucks for another set). Still, checking the price now, its $35, but over here €40 - which is almost $55. Now that's a little too much they are asking for.. Quote
Vindicare Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I wasn't really planning on buying this set myself, but with the BOGO at TRU recently I got 5888 Ocean Interceptor. This was the best choice for the best discount. I think it's merely an ok set, minus that awesome henchman. You could even use the torso in City. His face is killer(looks funny with Batmans mask on ). Quote
korpen4444 Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 I like this set. Not owning the previous Batwing, this would be a great set to get one. I also love the Joker Goon, but he should of also come in a cheaper set. Either that or the set should have had two. Oh well. The Joker-Copter is also very nice. I love the ladder and the Laughing Gas bomb. That is pretty awesome! So was the review :D But why does batman have a blank strip across his head? And why are his eyes not there when he has his mask on? The band is so Bats can have his signature white eye slits on the cowl. That and so Bruce can have a workout Quote
TheBatstan Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 As for that mysterious Batarang from the '06 line, the book says it's a "Spinning Batarang" referring to it when it's been thrown Quote
