EXO-CHAMP Posted September 27, 2006 Posted September 27, 2006 I've finally completed the translation of my Exo-Dice game. It is now fully opperational and battle ready (where have I heard that before). Click my sig for the rules. Try it out and let me know what you think. My friends and I have really enjoyed the game while testing it, and we have been playing all sorts of table top games for 10 years or more. But it needs your feed-back. Sign up for a tour of duty as either the heroic Exo-Force or the onrushing robot horde. Hope you enjoy it. Oh, and please sign the guestbook. It would mean so much to me. ;-) Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted September 29, 2006 Author Posted September 29, 2006 No comments? Are strategic games not suited for Lego? Quote
Zarkan Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Of course they are! X-D Great job on EXO-DICE, Exo-champ. You seem to really have most everything nailed down, but I did notice a couple of mistakes: 1: The Sentry II can fly, according to the offical Lego Magazine (US version) 2. I think the Gate Defender has rockets, as the four cones below the cannon look a lot like them 3. "Defence" is spelled Defense. ;-) Oh, BTW, will you be adding stat cards for the other vehicles eventually? (Supernova, MDT, Striking Venom, Silent Strike, Meca one's unamed mech from the fortress, Bridge walker, White lightening, and any others I missed) ~~ED~~ Quote
Kahgarak Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 2. I think the Gate Defender has rockets, as the four cones below the cannon look a lot like them I believe these are missiles, but also that the rack they are connected to is some sort of magazine. Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted October 1, 2006 Author Posted October 1, 2006 Sentry II can fly? But they never do in the cartoon. Strange. It doesn't even look like it can fly. In the on-line game, they do decent from above, using boosters to break the fall. I was thinking about some kind of arial deployment instead. I also think that the cones, on the Gate Defender, are some kind of ammo mag for the gun. I'll be making templates for all the known machines in the Exo-Force line. Also the combos. If it was in the cartoon and you can buy the model, I'll make a template. At a later stage I'll be introducing point costs for the machines so you can match up your forces. And later on the point system, so you can make your own MOCs for the game. Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted October 3, 2006 Author Posted October 3, 2006 I'm currently working on the templates for the Supernova and the Silent Strike. How would you rate the Supernova vs. Grand Titan Silent Strike vs. Stealth Hunter I'm thinking speed, armour and armament. Edit: Demo Game section is ready. Check it out. Sorry about the double posts... Quote
Zarkan Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Hm, let me see.. Supernova compared to Grand Titan would come out as: Speed: Slower Armor: A bit more Armament: Much more Silent Strike compared to Stealth Hunter would come out as: Speed: Slower Armor: More Armament: More Supernova to me is just a much more powerful Grand Titan with about the same armor, and Silent Strike is a grand Titan with wings and more rockets. ;-) Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted October 4, 2006 Author Posted October 4, 2006 Thanks for your in-put. Those were more or less my own conclusions. Just nice to know that I'm not that far off. I'm also including a Bioni-Dice game on my site. Toa Inika vs. Piraka. The system will be more or less the same but will include more abilities and powers. Quote
Zarkan Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Yeah, I saw that. It's great that we'll finally have a wargaming system for at least one year of Bionicle. Can't wait to see it! ;-) Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted October 5, 2006 Author Posted October 5, 2006 I bought "Mask of Light" and "Legends of Metru Nui" as inspiration. But as I have none of the older Bionicle I guess I'll have to stick with the new ones (including Titans). For inspiration I will use several of the on-line games and the story-guides found on BZP. (And EB of course) Edit: Just added a Q&A page to my site. It's for clearing up rule questions and other questions. Quote
dillthepill Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 I didn't know the SentryII can fly. And those are rockets(missiles, whatever you prefer) on the Gate Defender. I read it in one of the comics. Exo-Champ, you should make the Striking Venom, MDT, Mecha One's mech, and Bridge Walker and White Lightning along with the Supernova and Silent Strike. I can't wait to play, the game seems pretty cool. As for the comparison, here is what I think. Supernova Weapon: The laser staff is more or less just another shooter, but does have points at the end and a sword too. 9/10 Guns: Three(including laser staff.) The main ones have a cool yet simple design. 9/10 Extras: Has more rockets than Grand Titan, yet not as powerful. 8/10 Overall look: 9/10 The extra wings are a bit too much. Playability: 8/10 Rather heavy for a mech because of staff, but at least it's a flying mech. Grand Titan Weapon: The electronic claw is amazing, with a great design. 9/10 Guns: The guns are rather short, but rotate to shoot faster. 8/10 Extras: Has two powerful rockets and two regular rockets. 9/10 Overall look:Cool, but rather short for a big mech and short arms.7/10 Playability: Very good to play with, but everyone knows flying mechs are better.9/10 Supernova wins barely with a one point lead. Stealth Hunter Weapon : I'm liking the blades, but they are rather thin. 9/10 Guns: This gun isn't all impressive because they had to make a new piece and it has too simple a design. 8/10 Extras: Has two little guns under cockpit and and little rocket and dish on top. 9/10 Overall look: Ok, but white doesn't really interest me and the wings look like bunny ears in the position they have in comics. 9/10 Playability:This is the best thing about the Stealth Hunter, because of how light it is. 10/10 Silent Strike: More of an updated Stealth Hunter catching up in the areas it missed. Weapon: The same design as the Stealth Hunter's, but the blade looks great blue and the armor and missiles make it cool. 10/10 Guns: Very original and cool design. A huge step for Hikaru's machines. 10/10 Extras: Has about twelve small missiles. 9/10 Overall look: No criticisms from me. An amazing use of armor, stickers, and color scheme. 10/10 Playability: Rather heavy with a pretty flimsy cockpit. 7/10 Silent Strike wins by one point. As you can see, I like Hikaru's mech's better than Takeshi's. Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted October 6, 2006 Author Posted October 6, 2006 Thanks dill. Great info. i really missed the part about the missiles on the Gate Defender. I'll start working on the Templates this weekend. Edit: Still working. Got blindsided by a couple of MOCs. :-) Quote
TaltosVT Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Exo-Champ, I just read through the rules. Looks great! Do you have any plans for including rules for building templates for custom mecha? I built a Combat Mechanic mecha a few months ago in the Exo-Force style. I thought it might be fun to build a template for it. Where most of the Exo-Force mecha have weapons, my mecha has tools for doing field repairs. I saw that you included rules for doing repairs. In the case of a unit like this, would he follow the normal repair rules, or would he use some sort of rules specific to a repair mecha? -Elroy Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted October 12, 2006 Author Posted October 12, 2006 There will be a point system (It's being tested at the moment). So you will be able to include your MOCs. The Exo-Force guys are the heroes, so they get the best stats. However. Generic human pilots gets Attack 3, Defence 3 and can get one skill (in your case: Combat Mechanic). Glad you like the game. Be sure to post battle reports. If you include pictures I'll add them to my web-site. Nice MOC by the way. Quote
dillthepill Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 There will be a point system (It's being tested at the moment). So you will be able to include your MOCs. Sweet! My MOC I made for the contest will kick butt against the robot side. :-) Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted October 30, 2006 Author Posted October 30, 2006 I was just wondering if anyone have tried the game yet? If you have: What do you think? (good/bad/changes) Why haven't you posted a battle report yet? :-) Quote
Darth_Ewok Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I just haven't had the time, with school and all that. But it's first on my list after I finish playtesting my wargame. *sweet* Quote

EXO-CHAMP Posted November 18, 2006 Author Posted November 18, 2006 Hello legolad911 The Exo-Dice discussion has moved to the Wargames forum: http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...?showtopic=6840 Venom One is actually not an Offical name, but I talked to Swiftone(Exo-Force writer) on BZP and he said that we should feel free to call Meca Ones BM (Sentai Fortress) Venom One. It has already been added to the template section... Quote
