Brickton Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Greetings Loginians I am new to Eurobricks...I did join a few weeks ago but have been tied up with study so have just started posting. About 2 years ago I emerged from the "Dark Times" and have well and truly re-ignited my love of lego. As a kid I love playing with lego for hours on end....building all kinds of things from my meagre collection...oh those were the days!!! Then I became a teenager (and thus stupid) and sold it off to my next door neighbour...BIG mistake. Over the years I did buy the odd set, particularly when Lego Star Wars came out as I love the movies....but didn't get the collector edition Millenium Falcon (curses!!). About 18 months ago however, something just "clicked" and now I am a fully fledged AFOL, have joined a LUG in my home town (Brisbane, Australia) ands have even started doing MOC's and will be participating in several displays next year. Some of my favourite lego series include; Harry Potter, City (of course), Star Wars (although not so much now), and anything Medieval (so looking forward to Lord of the Rings!!!). I have been lucky in being able to gather a good collection of Viking Lego and my big build next year will be a Viking Village. Currently I have around 3 Viking Long Boats which I am in the middle of making some custom sails, and around 140-150 Viking minifigs. I also really enjoy castles and Medieval lego creations and have been greatly inspired by Derfel's building articles which I have been following religiously. I have only recently started some of my own MOC's and had a great build for our Xmas meeting which I will post as soon as I figure it out. I am currently studying Organisational Psychology and hope to live and work overseas at some point...but right now am working furiously on getting my PhD complete so I can get my life back and build more lego ;) I hope to catch more of you around over time and never know may be in your area someday. Lastly, Merry Xmas all and happy new year. Quote
lorax Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Welcome Brickton from another BLTG member. I am back at uni next year, so I will be handing my life over for a while, but hopefully I will still be participating in displays next year (especially if the current plans come to fruition). Quote
