of his Lego Technic 4-cylinder, 12-Valve working engine with realistic valve tappet sounds! If you study the construction, you could probably make this with the spare parts you have on hand.

Pretty cool! It looks like it's a 2 stroke design. It sounds great! :thumbup:

That is very impressive. I still don't understand how the things at the top move up and down (i don't know what to call them).

The chains and gears are just for aesthetics, and the axles on top of the motor may keep the valves from flying up too high. For a true 4 stroke motor, the camshafts would have a gear with twice as many teeth as the crank gear. On real cars, the camshaft(s) spin at half the speed of the crank. But to answer your question, it looks like the valves are pushed up/down by a lever that rides along the top of the crank (the axle that the pistons and connecting rods are connected to).
