dhc6twinotter Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Hey all, I was asked to post up the mini turntable ID numbers for anybody who would be interested in purchasing the part through LEGO Direct. Here are the element ID numbers: 4652235 for the grey part 4652236 for the black part Thanks, Daniel Quote
timslegos Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Thanks! Do you think TLG will sell them? tim Quote
Paul Boratko Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 I don't see why they wouldn't... They sold the 8110 Unimog parts a month before the set was released here in the U.S. Quote
DLuders Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Absolutely, TLG Customer Service will sell them! Go to Shop.Lego.com , click on the "Contact Us" at the bottom of that webpage, then telephone them IF you have a Credit Card. You can order up to 15 different line items IF you have the Lego Element IDs (not the Bricklink part numbers). The parts must be from Lego sets sold within the last five years. I've had good success with this method to obtain parts that are RARE on Bricklink. Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted December 13, 2011 Author Posted December 13, 2011 (edited) Yup, I've had pretty good results ordering through LEGO Direct. I bought 4 wheels from 8297 for $25, as well as 100 black gear racks for the same price. The black racks weren't available on Bricklink in that quantity, and $25 shipped for 100 was pretty comparable to the grey racks on bricklink. I did check on power puller tires and pneumatic cylinder brackets, but neither part was available anymore. Edited December 13, 2011 by dhc6twinotter Quote

The only ones on BL are singles from different parts of the US. That's too many different shipping charges. If anyone has four that they would part with, please let me know. Is the LEGO ID# 54120? Thanks Quote
Brickend Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Very much looking forward to this part - I'm thinking about 5 stud wide, heavier duty differentials. Quote
Crtlego Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 I have also had much success with Lego Direct which is why I am planning on making another order in the next few days. But in response to original post.. Does the mini turntable spin freely? Do the gears mesh well (especially at the 90 degree angle pictured)? Quote

Thanks To be honest, I don't remember if that was just the tires or both rims and tires. I think it was both tires and rims, since at the time, I didn't have any other rims that size. The rims are the standard size larger rims found on the Unimog and Supercar, so if you have those rims, new ones wouldn't be required. Your best bet is to probably order your tires through Paul or LEGO Direct. But in response to original post.. Does the mini turntable spin freely? Do the gears mesh well (especially at the 90 degree angle pictured)? Yup, the turntable seems to spin fairly well. The gears mesh about as well as any other bevel gears that are 90 degrees apart. I think it's going to be a pretty handy part to have. Quote
zewy623 Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 What all can we stick through a turntable? I remember on a technicbricks post it said we could fit an axle, or a LA/MiniLA, or up to 4 pneumatic tubes (4? I think thats a bit crazy) Quote
DLuders Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 From these clear Bricklink pictures, we can see the 1x1 square opening in the center of these two parts: 99010 "Technic Turntable Small Base": 99009 "Technic Turntable Small Top": Quote
Illuwatar Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Got the 9391 today and took some pictures of the new turntable (these shown here is more of UFO-quality...). Also, tried some gears together with the part to see how it meshes. Enjoy! It is not yellow - the lamps are causing this (even with flash used). The gear profile - half-bevel. The meshing used in the set. This config gives a rather rough connection (not that smooth as expected). With a 20T bevel gear, works fine. With a 16T gear on a straight beam - not even connected... Same 16T with a twist - now it works. A 8T must also be used on an angle. Quote
timslegos Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 looks cool! Does the turntable spin freely? tim Quote
Illuwatar Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Yes - the two parts just snaps together (but it is a bitch to separate - there is a risk to damage the parts in the process) and they spin as freely as two pieces of plastic without any lube or bearings can do. Quote
