paostmo Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 (edited) Hello all. This is my first attempt at a modular MOC. I'm pretty proud of it! The interior isn't bare, but it leaves much to be desired. Comments welcome! Trent Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Beautiful work. I love the whole construction of the doorway - the arch over it, the brickwork by the steps, the lights etc - all the parts of it are excellent. I like the dorma window in the attic, and I really like the touch of the flowers. I love the ridged edge of the building too - looks brilliant! Good job on the interior too, particularly with the bed and sofas and lights...it's nice and homely. I also really like the solid windows above the second floor open windows, and the tan detailing above those...and that's not to mention the lattice work on the roof. Awesome. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 It's the dark red in this I really like, a stand-out factor for sure.....a very nice building too. Perhaps a row of these would look equally as nice too ! Brick On 'paostmo' ! Quote
sonicstarlight Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I'm a big fan of this one! The whole thing is very well detailed and proportioned, and the dark red on the ground floor really makes this building pop. I hope this is just the first of many modulars we see from you. Blogged on Brick Town Talk! Quote
hometown_unicorn Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 this looks great, nice first post too Quote
cimddwc Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Indeed a very nice house with nice architecture details and nice colors. Quote
paostmo Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 Thanks everyone! The dark red is one of my favorite colors that LEGO makes, but I barely had enough pieces to finish just one floor, thus the switch to tan. Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Welcome to EB 'paostmo'! Great job on the house, it's very elegant. The interior is very nice as well. Great color choices for the furniture. All in all, a fantastic house, keep up the great work Quote
AlexScammer Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 This looks pretty awesome. I tried making a modular house of my own. It didn't come out good. But this piece of work is very cool. Thumbs up. Quote
Andy D Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 (edited) Very, very nice. I love all the little touches. I particularly like the windows on the second floor that let you get a peek of the inside details. Keep up the great work! Andy D Edited December 11, 2011 by Andy D Quote
L@go Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 This house is lovely, I really like it! From the exterior with those square grille brick columns and the flowerbed out front, to the detailed interior with great furniture, you've done a very good job on this. As others have said, I hope you'll make more modulars! The dark red is one of my favorite colors that LEGO makes, but I barely had enough pieces to finish just one floor, thus the switch to tan. Actually, I think the combination between dark red and tan is a very nice one - I doubt the house would have been as appealing if you had built it all in dark red! Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Welcome to Eurobricks paostmo. That is a nice modular building you made there. Don't worry about the interior. At least you have an interior. Most of my older buildings still don't have an interior. (p.s. Did you already introduce yourself in the Hello! My name is... forum? We like to know more about you. ) Quote
HighFlyer Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Great modular building MOC, I love the construction of the doorway Quote
Man with a hat Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Nice house. The dark red fits your building perfectly. I also like the way you did the collumns at the sides of the building. Great work! Quote
Vindicare Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Very cool! What a great facade, all the details. The dark grey corners of the building. The trim. Everything. Quote
paostmo Posted December 14, 2011 Author Posted December 14, 2011 (p.s. Did you already introduce yourself in the Hello! My name is... forum? We like to know more about you. ) I'll do that! Your Brown Brick House has been very inspiring for me. It has been one of my favorite 32x16 modular buildings that I have seen. In fact, I recreated it when I first downloaded LDD for practice a couple years ago :) Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Very nice modular building! The architecture of the front door is a masterpiece! Perfect colors scheme! Quote
