Did Lego make adverts years ago like they do now? YouTube only has recent but has anyone ever seens adds for the likes of 8455 or even back to 8868 or more recent 8421 or 8466?

Also is there any Lego videos out of Lego technic production lines/factory (technic only) or technic related?

Thanks in advance.

No, unfortunately I don't remember to have seen commercials for 8868 or 8455.

I'd love also to see one for 8455. It is my favorite LEGO Technic set, ever!

Here we go :)

I also remember this one was great

Did you notice that on the 8868 video, there were two rubber bands on the compressor. I rebuilt ours recently and the instructions were only for one band. Does anyone know if there was a design change and two sets of instructions?

Yes I noticed that too,I havnt built my 8868 yet so I'm not to sure maybe conchas might know!

Has anyone noticed the awesome manipulators built out of legos in the videos?! The ones that were building the super-car were awesome. I would pay to see that set in action, it was probably pretty cool.

In the instructions, only one rubber band is used, on one large wheel, however, on the box art and other papers that come with the set, there are two pulleys and two rubber bands.

That's strange I wonder why?

Too much resistance with two bands compared to one, mayby they found this out after the cad or paper work art work was done.

I would say that there wasn't enough slippage with the two belts. There is no pressure relief in the pneumatics of the set. So to keep all those main feed pipes intact, and not blowing off, I'd say they had to allow for some slippage in the compressor. So they actually slowed the speed of the compressor down and likely lowered the performance. It would be interesting to rebuild the 8868 with the twin pulley wheels to see if the performance improved.

No, there is no slippage in the rubber belt in the compressor unit at any time with one belt.

I tried both solutions.

As suspected, when there is larger pulley, and pressure is built, the motor slows down, but not so drastically as with two smaller pulleys.

But I did notice slight improvement in speed of pneumatic movements in smaller pulleys setup, because of the higher RPMs achieved, of course.
