timslegos Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Hello, I finally present to the forum my first all studless build, my remote control backhoe! This project has definitly been the largest so far. the remote functions include: drive steering loader arm up/down loader bucket tilt rear boom up/down dipper in/out bucket tilt boom swing the manual functions include: 3x pf lights outriggers extending dipper The front loader arm is controlled by 2 large actuators and 2 mini actuators for the bucket. The cabin is where the lights and the outriggers are controlled via the pf switches. This is also my first attempt at a comfortable chair . The pf receivers are hidden inside the steps into the cab. When getting prepared for digging, the outriggers and front bucket are extended, lifting the whole machine off the ground. Even without the dipper extended, the arm has quite the reach. This is what the dipper looks like extended. The rear arm is very compactly built, and i was very inspired by Jurgmeister's backhoe on brickshelf. What it looks like from behind. Overall, i am very satisfied with this model. Since it was my first all studless build it was quite a challenge. Unfortunately i couldn't afford to make a brickshelf order so not all the parts are the color i wanted them to be, which is why i had to put the huge battery box inside the cab instead of the smaller AAA battery box. i got a little distracted towards the end by my next project...a snowgroomer with a twist . More/larger photos can be found on my Brickshelf page: Brickshelf Finally the video: Comments and critique welcome! tim Quote
DLuders Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Your Lego Technic R/C Backhoe is excellent! It's got a nice mix of "studded" and "studless" construction. Great MOC! Quote
