Tian2005 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Just got my second. I was told it would likely be discontinued after x-mas at the Lego store, so I swooped it up on black Friday. Sold previous one and immediately regretted it. A must have set!!! Various cubicals are great for displaying various scenes and its shape allows for numerous points of view on your shelf. Constant changes of layout reminds me of play sets as a kids. +++ As for the shuttle: If you've always loved this ship, like I have, It cannot be ignored. Highest quality build. Today and yesterday evening, It was shortly on www.amazon.fr for 339€! I was hesitating to buy it because my son is only 6 years old. For Xmas he is gonna get a smaller lego Star Wars set. So it was more a present for me. The other problem is you need space and a dedicated table and I do not have that. And time as well! Quote
Maltem Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I did buy one for my son for christmas to day. he is only 5 (Well almost 6) years but he is building big legos by him self already. I did get him the 8098, and he did it 100% by him self. (yeah i'm proud :)) He loves lego and starwars, so it will be great to se his face when he opens the package :) :) Of course i think he will need some help with this one, but that will be a lot fun for both of us. Looks like a really really great set. I got the last one in the store. Quote
JackJonespaw Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 I got it for my birthday last year. Took me 8 nonstop hours of building! Quote

mortesv Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Well, I just got mine for x-mas :) Have already ordered a ton of extra minifigs to fill it with. When the new TIE comes this January I am getting Death Star Troopers eith proper helmets :) Quote
Larrynautik Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 I bought two of them : one for me, and one that I will sell later. This set is really the ultimate playset I've ever built. Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Got my first Death Star almost 2 years ago and got a second one to keep sealed a year ago. The play features make this set arguably the best LEGO SW sets ever made. Quote
Saruman the White Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 The best set Lego has ever made in my opinion, I had so much fun building the set and reimagining the scenes from the films. There's just so much detail in the set and it's really nice to look at. I was worried about buying it due to the price but it was worth it. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I agree, 10188 is easily one of the most quality Star Wars sets produced thus far. It stands out as both a display piece and as a playset. I am very surprised that it's still available, but I don't expect it to last much longer. It's sold out now at many major U.S. retail websites, like Target.com. It's only a matter of how many more TLG feels like they can sell. Quote
