"Crimson Death" capital ship killer

Hello!

Mostly a space scooter with a pair of big and powerful red-ray guns, the intent was to destroy capital ships from a very small platform that would be hard to destroy in return. Very maneuverable but slow because of the weight of the weapons, it never was a big success, though the one pictured is adorned with 3 black plates, the white hull plates being replaced progressively by black ones with each kill. The overheating also sometimes caused self-destruction, due to a lack of heat sinks. A larger version was proposed but was ditched in favour of medium-class ships, more suited to the task of transporting and shooting with the heavy-weight guns.

It is still in limited service but is now mostly used by space pirates who attack convoys from asteroid fields.
