TimBurdon Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 (edited) I started building this just after the announcement of the micro-modular buildings. The Green Grocer is my first completed 'up-scale'. Cafe Corner is 80% complete and I'll put up some pics shortly. For the record this size Green Grocer is 66cm (26 inches) at it's highest point, 51cm (20 inches) wide and 26cm (10 inches) deep. The reason for these only being approximately half the depth of what they should be is due to lack of bricks in my collection and also physical size. As for the number of bricks int he model, who knows. I worked on the theory of doubling the standard size brick or plate to make it mini land scale. So a 1 stud brick became a 2x2 brick two bricks high. Enjoy the images, larger resolutions are over at Brickshelf - www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=489658 Edited November 26, 2011 by TimBurdon Quote
L@go Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Wow - three posts, and this is what you present? This is a wonderful idea, but I can't help think about the piece count... that must be a massive undertaking! The GG looks great, can't wait for the CC! Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Well, we've had modified designs and micro-scale ones.....now this - AWESOME work 'TimBurdon', I can't wait to see more of your work. Brick On in Miniland ! Quote
alois Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 When I first saw your photographs my initial reaction was: 'what is the point of this? He owns set no. 10185, well so do I.' And then I started to appreciate the scale of this thing, and I must say, I'm heavily impressed now. The brick count must be 8 times that of the real green grocer, if the backside is built. Quote
