imitationspud Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Welcome to the Cobblepot Aviary! Well, not so much ‘welcome’ as ‘scram’!, as it’s the Penguin’s private birdhouse, and not open to the public. This is not only where the Penguin keeps his birds, but also the location of his secret underground apartment. Right now he’s on the first floor, holding a gun on renowned veterinary ornithologist Dr. Ramona Shivers, whom he’s kidnapped to look after his sick ostrich, Hildegard. The Cobblepot Aviary (full complex) by imitationspud, on Flickr The lowest level of the aviary, buried deep in the earth, is the ice cavern where the Penguin’s namesake birds hang out. Freezer units keep the cavern at a ‘cool’ Antarctic temperature, and the underground pond is kept stocked with fish and other penguin treats. The Cobblepot Aviary (sub-sub-basement) by imitationspud, on Flickr Above the big penguin freezer is the Penguin’s bedroom. Notable aspects of the room include a spare top hat (a gift from the Mad Hatter that the Penguin has always been afraid to try on), a prototype laser umbrella, and a quilt handmade by Grandma Cobblepot, long predating young Oswald’s rise to criminal infamy. The level above that is his workshop, where he builds his special umbrellas. The current project is a shotgun umbrella! The Cobblepot Aviary (basement and sub-basement) by imitationspud, on Flickr And finally, we have the aviary proper. The birds spend their time up in the branches of the trees, or nestled into the cracks and crevices of the rock walls. Until they’re needed for some special bird-related crime, that is! dverburg Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I lurk way more than I comment, but I definitely had to comment on this entry! You perfectly capture the spirit of LEGO Batman. A cool, creative hideout for Penguin with a fun story and several awesome levels. You do the character justice and you make the LEGO Batman franchise look fun and unique where so many other people just do "dark and gritty" without any of the fun or wonder that make comics so cool. Again, I really love it. Quote
The Penguin Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Aw! That is sooooo sweet! Great MOC with a great idea about great me! I'll refrain from further praise, since I can be accused of being biased! Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote

Vindice Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Lov the way you've done the tree in the aviary. Looks a bit precarious at the top, one more level and it would be a goner i think! Quote
Si-MOCs Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 hahah the basement is by far the best part. I love the little AC unit. And the penguins are super cute :) Quote
