stefan86 Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 (edited) Hello, this is my first own creation I finished building in march 11´ , it took me much more than I thought to finish it, because i never was pleased with the details. I know it hasn´t a lot of details but I still like this building, that is why I havent destroyed it. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/stefan86/modular/post_3.jpg And here is a picture whith some official Lego modular buildings :) Edited November 25, 2011 by Siegfried Please, don't post big images Quote
snaillad Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Nice job, sometimes too many details can seem fussy. Yellow is a good choice to stand out against the other modular buildings, it works really well. Is there any pics of the interior? Quote
LegoSjaak Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 That is a nice addition to your modularstreet. I like modular mocs, because else you see always the same pictures of modular streets... a few building in different arrangements, but in fact always the same street... With a MOC like yours it looks different and better! Greetz, LegoSjaak Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Gee, post offices are popular eh ? Nice modular build.....inspired by the same country as my latest work 'stefan86' ? I concur with 'snaillad'....any interior shots ? Brick On 'stefan86' ! Quote
stefan86 Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 (edited) Thank you for the replies :), the reason why I deecided to build the post office yellow was because the orignial old post briefcases were yellow, not as nowadays with the pet shop or the grand emporium that the briefcases are red :) Here is the only picture i have from inside, because the other floors are empty :) http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/stefan86/modular/post_office_4.jpg Thank you Edited November 25, 2011 by Siegfried Please, don't post big images Quote
streifen Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Nice Post Office! i like the basement which incorporated the mailboxes. but are there steps to the basement? and stairs to upstairs? Quote
L@go Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I think of yellow as a colour that's too 'noisy' to be used in a modular MOC, and when I saw the first pictures of yours I thought that I was right. But seeing it in a line of houses, along with the official modulars, makes me change my mind - it works very well. It's a nice and uncluttered design, and the detail with the mailboxes (not briefcases, that's something else!) integrated in the wall is a good idea. I'd add a window or two to the back wall, to make the interior a bit brighter. And I agree that stairs would make this better, but making room for that is tricky, so I can see why you haven't done it. Overall a very nice modular! Any plans to do another? Quote
Man with a hat Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Nice post office. I like the way you did the stairs at the entrance. A very typical style, and it works well. Also the way you did the detailing below the roof is looking good. The only thing I am not convinced about is the yellow colour, but maybe that's just me. Quote
stefan86 Posted November 24, 2011 Author Posted November 24, 2011 Thank you for the replies again :), I didn't know about the word mailboxes :D I have 2 more modular buildings :), I'll try to show you the other buildings in the next weeks, another reason why I decided to make the building yellow is because I had a big amount of that colour :) Thank you Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Very good work Stefan ...you have good skill! Nice post office ...I like this kind of subject! Quote
alois Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Yellow can be a very noisy, even childish colour, but every once in a while I see a mocular MOC that uses yellow in a realistic way. Yours is really such a MOC, I like the way yellow is used here very much. Quote
HighFlyer Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I love the use of yellow with touches of grey here, as well as the basement/stairwell. Great job! Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 That is a really good post office you build 'stefan86'. There is one thing I would change and that is to let the two post boxes stick half a stud out of the wall. Quote
