Lego_Hero Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Hey folks, I was visiting relatives and stopped off at their local TRU and saw their old bricktober baggies mixed in with their other impulse baggies. I did a price check to see if they priced them for individual sale. The baggies were $0.01! I bought them out and got three spacemen and four Castle soldiers. My local TRU said they had to send theirs back. Anyone else get lucky? Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Not with Bricktober leftovers, but when they had the Jack Sparrow minifigure polybags for preorders of the videogame LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean, my local TRU put out five of them priced at a penny apiece like your Bricktober promos. My girlfriend and I got them all. Quote
Lego_Hero Posted November 20, 2011 Author Posted November 20, 2011 Cool! I never saw those at my store. I'm going to cut these guys free from the magnets when I get ho Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 They're supposed to send them back-- I think they get re-processed as later freebies or something-- but you got lucky and found a TRU that doesn't know what it's doing, or at the very least a manager who doesn't communicate with his employees very well. I did the same, luckily-- during week 3 (the Castle figure) I made a purchase that came to $19.96 (Blacksmith Attack and something else, can't remember) so it didn't qualify for the free minifig deal. Well, not only did the sales associate offer to let me buy four of the figs to get the fifth one free... she even let me pick out the forestmen from the previous week! One mug of hot water and a few pairs toy story army men's legs later, I have myself a great little band of merry men! Quote
Canada_7 Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 (edited) I've seen them at one ToysRUs in Canada but selling at $3 each. They had plenty of them. Didn't get them since they were glued, which is disappointing. Edited November 22, 2011 by Canada_7 Quote
Lego_Hero Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 With my boxcutter, I don't have to replace the legs. The only drawback is that there are filled studs in the back of the legs. Basically they just can't sit down. Quote

Lego_Hero Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 I'm going to give that scewdriver trick a try. I was in my local TRU today and found a bricktober ninja on the shelf! The price checker said $.01 so I threw it in my basket. I picked out two sets to take advantage of their bogo 50% off offer. Of course the computer gave me 50% off the ninja! Her screen showed the ninja as free. The other sets were $9.99 each, so I convinced her to take the 50% off of one of those sets. I think her math was fuzzy, though. I basically got out of there without paying sales tax. AND the ninja still read $0.00 on the receipt. Nothing like a free minifig! Quote
TheLegoDr Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 I haven't seen any of those at my TRU, which stinks. Sounds like a few people got some good deals. Lucky! Quote
Solscud007 Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Sweet. Anyone got a white ninja they are willing to let go? Quote
