brickmack Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 DSCN0050 by brickmack, on Flickr I got this set of three minifigures at the LEGO store grand opening in Indianapolis back in april. They were given away for free to I think the first 500 customers. The top of the package says "395 of 500". All three say "2011 The LEGO Store, Indianapolis, IN" on the back of the torso, and the front torso print seems to be exclusive to this pack (though the one on the right appeared in several sets on a white background). I'd get front pictures but I can't seem to get them to turn around in the package, and I don't want to open it. Anyone know how much this is worth? It's unopened, and I haven't been able to find anything like it on bricklink or brickset so far. Would it be a good idea to keep it sealed and sell it eventually, or is it relatively unvaluable? fyrmedhatt Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 The reason why these sets are hard to find on Bricklink is that the store opening sets are coveted collectibles, and so they usually sell out quickly unless they are priced at very high prices. The entry for your Indianapolis set is here. Take notice of the price it has sold for in the past 6 months: $200, with additional listings for $175 and $399, it's certainly quite valuable. Most of these sets do not have any exclusive parts, they're simply collectible due to their limited packaging, so keep it mint! Quote
brickmack Posted November 20, 2011 Author Posted November 20, 2011 Ah thanks for the information. I guess I'll keep it for a while, hopefully the price will go up with time. Quote
L@go Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 (edited) Unless I'm very much mistaken, all three of these torsos appear exclusively in store opening sets (at least in these colours). Yet there are some store opening sets which contain regular torsos that you can find in a lot of different sets - and these seem to go at almost the same prices, which I find very hard to understand. I mean, I'd happily pay a few extra bucks (not those crazy inflated prices, though) to get exclusive torsos, but not to get something I could pick up from the build-a-minifig section in any Lego store...
