davidmull Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 @ davidmull, ok i get the stering part of it, but how does the drive work considering its connected to a set of gears that are normal and clutch, the stering, and the center differential... i dont understand, if you have the unimog and dont mind taking it apart, can you show me how that would work??? i am so confused on this. It shows u in the link above how to connect the motor, watch the YouTube clip,it fits perfect in the chassis,no clutch gear for the driving as its not needed, u just need to change ur gears in the portal axles, this is also in the video.its a very easy mod! zewy623 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 @davidmull im just not understanding how it works, the drive motor is connected to a cross axle that has the green-ish clutch first then a normal gear of the same size, under the clutch is a normal gear on a cross axle to another clutch which is connecting to the center differential, but above the clutch that the motor connects to is a normal gear which is connected to the steering. im just not understanding how that works. is it possible i can get a diagram or somthing??? U have me confused now! Are u talking about the steering mod or the XL motor in the drive train? Quote
zewy623 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 (edited) haha im confusing myself also, i think i over-explained it. if you look at the instructions (any of them) it has the center diff connecting to the crossaxle that has the knob gear for steering through a set of gears, some normal and some of the greenish clutch, and the xl motor that drives the mog is connected in the center of the set of gears, and the last gear is meshed with the center diff. im just not understanding how that works if the center diff is connecting to the turning though gears, unless im reading the instructions wrong, which is possible. and do you think i should use a speed ir remote instead of a normal one?? The speed ir remote is no good for unimog just use normal and do the steering mob shown in clip above. Quote
