timura Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Its really cool to design different banners with the Lego Flag Pieces but i think that we need a "Avalonia Coat of Arms" a logo that we print it for ourselves and use for the decoration of buildings and armies. Who knows how to use painting/photo editting programs well? Lets give a try and decide our logo in our guild colors? Maybe our Leader has something in mind about this or he can decide for us. I think we have to be first to find a unique logo before other guilds.
Andonii Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 (edited) I agree. Possibly we could go for a classic coat of arms, or maybe the head of some sort of animal. By the way does anyone know when we are going to choose the name for our capital? Also I still will accept any task for any title. Edited November 12, 2011 by Andonii

Colors= Sand Green, Dark Green Animal= Horse perhaps? Dragon?

I think this is a wonderful idea. I have an elven army but not a single green flag. I´m pretty sure there is nothing easier and more acessible (the main idea of the whole project) than get a picture, print it and use it on MOCs. It´ll make the distinction between guilds like Avalonia and Midgardia a lot clearer and efficient.
timura Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Dragons belong in the Rakath Mountains, not the plains ;) Dr Rod Why not? There are mountain dragons and there are plain dragons. Only the most special and strongest dragons are captured and controlled by the noble avalonians. Evil dragons are not our business..

Capt.JohnPaul Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 I've been working on flags! It appears people have a growing concern for colors to better represent factions and guild. (Some don't like orcs or crown knights up north, or lions in the West.) And people suggested flags, so I made some prototypes. Feel free to print these banners out, they are 2 inches x 5.5 inches. OR 5.08 cm x 13.97 cm. I will be using these, and I feel it represents Avalonia well! BROWN GREEN What do you think my lords? Good for the flag bearers in the regiments? You can also always resize them, these were made for hanging on castle walls.
Fred Daniel Yam Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Fellow Guildsmen, I present to you, my take on the High Lord Executioner Aldyr Riltor. Arrested as a criminal for manslaughter, Aldyr was so dangerous he had to be locked up in a separate wing of the prison. Found by William Harkenshire (me) who realised his potential and convinced him to take up the position of High Lord Executioner. The poeple were shocked by my decision, but then again, there's a reason why I'm the only Forestmen stationed on the Isles of Panik.... The Guillotine It seems I have caught a spy. Ardyn is also a very adept torturer and interrogator, he has his own private chamber where Artorius Rex sends him criminals of all walks of life. This spy is being interrogated while being inches away from a fiery demise. This deserter is being hung upside down while Ardyn gives him a lecture on the wrongs of desertation. While this farmer is being kept in a cramped cell crawling with vermin until he confesses of stealing livestock. I would like to thank SirSven7 for handing the position to me and I give the task to maydayartist.

Fred Daniel Yam Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 What do my fellow guildsmen think of my High Lord Executioner?
Andonii Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 It's good volcanicpanik. I thought it was great. I am still open to receiving any tasks to earn a title.

Thanks for coming up with them
Matn Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 I don't think it's really necessary to have custom flags in our creations, splashes of the colours of our guild (Sand Green and Dark Green) should do it I think. If we do use the flag idea, de Gothia has made some very nice flags with a dragon's head on it. Anyways, I'm up for a building task. *hint*
Andonii Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 (edited) Yeah, I guess your right, but I've already added it to my outpost and I am still going to use the flag. I worked hard on the outpost yesterday and, even though we have a month, I'm nearly done. By the way, I'm also up for doing a task. Edited November 13, 2011 by Andonii
mattman Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 Enter Sir Willy! William De Bleys - LEGO Avalonian Forestmen Leader by Matt_Henry_Aus, on Flickr William De Bleys is the leader of the local band of forestmen. Being a light moving force a horse is simply a hindrance - so he got himself one of those fancy griffin things ;) William De Bleys - LEGO Avalonian Forestmen Leader by Matt_Henry_Aus, on Flickr His unique saddle is rigged to carry the all important bugle - a trademark of any high ranking forestman and is also flying the forestmen colours (yes yes, still waiting for BL to send me a sand green :P) but in general William prefers to travel light. For Avalonia! And down with those scummy Nocturnans and their watchpost burnings :( Matt
Andonii Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 I have just noticed that some of the other guilds have a map of their regions. We should make a map and put in some landmarks that members create. Is anyone good at cartography?

Though some people don't have sand green, so they would result in using custom flags. Though they can always use de Gothia's, it seems it is more of a Dragon Knight's flag, than more of an Avalonia one. Edited November 13, 2011 by Capt.JohnPaul

Derfel Cadarn Posted November 13, 2011 Author Posted November 13, 2011 Firstly I'd like to say welcome to all our latest members, great figs everyone, im really liking what im seeing. Avalonia is shaping up to be a real dominate force! Well done to Volcanicpanic, another mean looking executioner for our land. I've noticed some of you have been talking about making a coat of arms. This is a great idea, and I really like the designs i've seen. As long as they are based on our realms colors its fine. Although like Matn said, you can also use hints of our colors in your mocs in different ways. I have been adding dark green and sand green shutters on the windows in my village, also making dark green doors out of tiles. There's lots of different ways you can incorperate our colors into your mocs. If you would like to add your own custom coat of arms into your mocs then go right ahead, I see no problem with it. I've been thinking about the idea of a map for a while now, and if there our any members here who can produce a good map then give it ago, then we can pick one we all like and use it as our land map. As you all know, the first challenge is under way and it would be great to get off to a good start. So all I ask is for you all to do the best you can and have fun. There will be lots of special titles and tags throughout this project for those who innovate and work hard for the guild. As the guild becomes busy with all the goings on and different mocs and ideas being posted, it can be hard to keep track of everything. So I will soon be appointing some 'Elite Warlord Generals', who be in charge of monitoring the different areas in the guild, keeping track of things and making decisions. They will also have a few extra 'powers' as well. To those who are currently doing some of the tasks I have set, can you let me know who is currently doing what task. So far 4 members have completed a task and earned a title, which I have updated on the list at the first page. Thanks all
