lightningtiger Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Finally, camera in hand I can post images of my latest creation - a week over due ! It's title........... The Queen inspects her Royal Blacksmiths Above we see the Queen inspecting the work of the younger smith while a guard stands nearby for her protection. 'Is the blade sharp, young man ?' she asks the younger blacksmith. Even in the early days, quality control and R&D was being carried out by experts in their chosen field. The senior blacksmith doesn't look happy, I wonder why ? Ah, that's why the Prince is eyeing off his beautiful daughter....never mind she's chatting up a young cross-bow man from the Queen's Royal Guard. The frog thinks to himself, 'Some guys have all the luck !' The forge with tall stone chimney and large bellows to pump air into the hot coals....the young serf that pumps the bellows is on a toilet break. Now for a parting shot at a different angle...... Well, that's that my first medieval creation....how did I do for a townie eh ? Quote
I Scream Clone Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Not bad LT, I would have worked on the terrain, ground work a little more for myself, with some mottling, rocks etc. The scene itself is packed with action and nicely built. Come to the stone side! not stoned.... Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 Thanks 'ISC' for your kind words, yeah I was thinking of adding extra plates with more scenery...something like a rampart plus some iron-age round houses maybe that survived the roman's, etc.,. I'll let my imagination runaway tonight on LDD first. Quote
Skipper Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Nice. I like the simplicity, and the prince's expression is perfect. How about building an attached blacksmith shop/quarters? Quote
Voodoo Hand Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 nice moc! Nicely detailled and deffo worth having! Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 Thanks 'Skipper' and 'Voodoo Hand' for your comments, and I might knock-up in LDD that house tonight. Quote
TenorPenny Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 It's paced really well with a lot of character and small but very cute additions of scenery and mood. Well done! Quote
Brinstar Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Really nice MOC lightningtiger! It reminds me a little of 6918 Blacksmith Attack but on a larger scale. I particularly like the design of the chimney. I agree that an attached Blacksmith's house would make this even better. Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 Thanks 'Brinstar', 'Hartfan' and 'TenorPenny' for your kind words, I'll be looking into building a single storey house for the blacksmith's daughter to live in...it will have to be pretty for her. Quote
K-Nut Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Nice work! I like the chimney and roof the most, and the minifig posing is quite good. The frog gave me a good chuckle. Quote
de Gothia Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Really nice blacksmith! I think it´s perfect as it is, standing alone. Reminds me of the blacksmith in Kingdom of Heaven. The large chimney is very nice! As said before, some mottling in the landscape would be nice :) Quote
Kerntechniker Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Nice. I like the simplicity, and the prince's expression is perfect. How about building an attached blacksmith shop/quarters? Great building! This is an extraordinary model and the blacksmith presented is also great. In special I'm impressed by the details and the nice story. Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 Thank you 'Kerntechniker', 'de Gothia' and 'K-nut' for your kind words too, I'll be doing some work on the house today.....we'll see how I go...posting A.S.A.P. ! Quote
TheLegoDr Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I like the roof/chimney area the most. But overall it looks like a good build with a nice little backstory. Keep up the brilliant work. Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 Thanks 'TheLegoDr' for your comments, I'm actually going to start work on a well today. Quote

legomonk Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Really nice blacksmith! I think it´s perfect as it is, standing alone. Reminds me of the blacksmith in Kingdom of Heaven. The large chimney is very nice! As said before, some mottling in the landscape would be nice :) That is exactly what I thought when I had first seen it. Its A great little MOC with lots of character. the house addition would be nice but by its self its a nice addition to any fantasy/medieval town. Quote

LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Not only Town theme LT ...fantastic Historic MOC! I like that roof with that big chimney ...lovely tan and brown colors (and beautiful Australian panorama on the back ) Totally cool! Quote
