Hey all!

I was looking through my Castle figure collection, and I noticed something: I own twenty Fantasy Era trolls(orcs?), and they all seem really boring. Maybe it is the lack of torsos, as Lego never made more than two variations on troll torsos.

So, I got out my collections of weapons, shields, and armor, and got building. I came up with a really good design for a raider style orc: a skeleton round shield from Fantasy Era, a bronze dwarven helmet without wings, and an axe, made with a clip on bronze axe head and reddish brown lightsaber blade.

But what I cannot seem to do is build a suitable looking orc heavy trooper...I tried a combo of that black breastplate with shoulder protection (I think it came in those sets with Ogel), and a winged bat helmet from the Fright Knights line. It just didn't work that well. And I cannot seem to dream up a good design for a shaman to lead them. Urgh.

I guess I just need some inspiration here, or some ideas! Some help would be great, as I am trying to whip my factions into shape in preparation for the upcoming community build.

Shaman eh?

For mine I took two of my custom furs (can be seen on Haldor in my sig), made a staff, and made some decals for him. Here are those decals:

As Orc/troll/trorc lover I have some suggestions for you!

For shaman:Use Indians shaman cap or Jack sparrow hair- they both fit!

For heavy troopers- use ninjago armors

For normals- use Vikings torsos.

So, anyone like my decals? I've posted 'Made By Scorpiox' on them to stop any old n00B nicking them without saying thanks. If anybody wants the decals PM me.

I thought the exact same thing a few months ago.

My advice: pick up a bunch of Prince of Persia stuff, should be awfully cheap now. Orcs + spikes and black clothing = interesting. :grin_wub: Oh, and I also gave them a bunch of axes from the Dwarve's Mine. Definitely switch out some of their weapons, 2 dozen of the same swords is very boring.

But, uh, those are the words of a mostly purist. I used the gray armor from the Tower Siege, the Orc King/Witch's cape, Lando's helmet (from the Sail Barge, but that's kinda rare, so I'd use a Kingdoms great helm) and the giant scimitar from Battle of Alamut. For variation? Try some bigger weapons, like poleaxes, double-sided axes, and Collectible Minifigures clubs.

This might be very useful for you too.

I really like your idea!

That Mola Ram headdress really looks nice for a shaman. They sure go for a ton on Bricklink, though. I will definitely get my hands on some more of those long bones as well.

We should make this into an ongoing project! I will try and post pictures of my progress as I renovate these guys.

Anyone want my shaman decals or not?

Here's another Orc one:

I would love to use those! Only problem I can see is the "made by scorpiox" sign right in the middle of the decal-it just looks way to out of place. How would I get rid of that?

I'll PM you the decal without it, it put it there so peolpe didn't just nick it without asking.

I have a new idea for a figure!

Deep in the woods lurks a terrible creature, it is known only as the ... 'Made By Scorpiox' beast.

Lookin good all!

A while back, someone made a ton of face decals for trolls, but after searching everywhere on EB, I can't seem to find them. It had to be close to 40 different facial expressions! If anyone has them, or knows where they are, would they be willing to link them here please?

Thanks.

Here is my Miniscule brickshelf folder....

I mainly used brickforge accessories as planned, but I also used their "wizards staff" as the base of polearms. The orc scimitar looks great with this combo.

For the large trolls I made two large weapons using 4 axe blades, a wizards staff and a couple other pieces.

More recently (Too recent to be in pictures) I also combined the wizards staff with brickforge's cleaver.

Anyway, if you're more of a purist, brick built weapons, like the hammer in "Dwarven Mine" are pretty good too. I Know I've seen brick built shields before as well.

Oh, and the heroica weapons are a good way to add variety of weapons as well, especially by buying the "Blacksmith attack"
