I Scream Clone Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Its tough to comment as all you have done is build a straight river and little bridge. Your town really needs to be a bit more advanced when compared to a lot of the finished work that gets presented on EB. The one thing i would offer is to make the river curve, this is in keeping with traditional rivers that don't follow straight lines. Quote

Tazmaniac Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I agree with that but I have done 3 MOC's in 3 Days. None have comments. I understand it can be a bit disheartening to not get any replies to your thread....maybe people were waiting on an update before passing on advice or criticism. If I could give some advice, maybe focus on your build a little longer before presenting it, it's better to post one refined MOC every three days than a rushed one every day. We all need to start some where and it takes time to build like Derfel or I Scream Clone . It's also good to start small to find your feet and style, while 32x32 might seem appealing 8x8 is a great place to start out. Best of luck with you building. Quote
de Gothia Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Great start you got there! Some advices as I did in your other thread. As said before, the river is very straight. You could make a curve to it. Or make it channelized with some stones on the side and lead it to a watermill..? Flowers, stems, stones or trees will make the river look more natural. That´s pretty much all the advice I could give you as there is no houses yet! Looking forward to see this village grow! Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Well, it's start 'JediAnakin', I agree about the river....more plating and how about a water wheel....use the blacksmith set to water power some machine and have the blacksmith with anvil and forge to one side. Keep trying we all had to start somewhere, and don't worry about the replies....I have the same problem sometimes, but I'm in this for fun and spreading the Lego love ! Brick On ! Quote

The Actual Blacksmith set was used, but then put on a bare baseplate where MVR will stand. On this baseplate a Slightly Modded MMV will stand. When I get it. Quote
tedbeard Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 No Comments? OK. Regarding the "coop" The chicken "coop" is actually a pen as it has no roof. Using 2x bricks for the walls looks awful and creates walls totally out of scale for minifigs. Besides having no roof there is not a door to keep them "cooped up". The notion of attaching a flaming torch to the side of a wooden coop is absurd. No one keeps chickens so close to their water source unless they want to catch nasty illnesses. I think you have already some good suggestions on other aspects of your WIP so I will leave off commenting further. Quote
