Flare Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 I don't have much to say... hope you like it Quote
Fred Daniel Yam Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 I like it, lovely photo and you've captured the moment of kill or be killed perfectly. Quote
de Gothia Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Wow! What a cool photo! Fun to see somene use the gladiator helmet! Where are that printed arm from on one of the guys?! Quote
Skrytsson Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Where are that printed arm from on one of the guys?! That is from the gladiator minifigure. Quote
Flare Posted October 28, 2011 Author Posted October 28, 2011 Thanks everyone. Yes, its from the Gladiator collectible fig Quote
Big Cam Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 You know, I was drawn in my your simple and to the point title and I'm happy I stopped by. The scene is great, your depth of field works really well here. Is the entire background made of LEGO? If so I'd love to see a shout of the entire set up. It looks great. Quote

The entire scene is made up of 100% genuine LEGO. I will try to get you a picture of the entire scene at a different angle tomorrow or the day after Glad you enjoyed it. Quote
CMP Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 (edited) The posing is excellent, as are the purist figs and the sand layering. My only gripe is that's some awfully clean sand for a bunch of guys killing eachother all day on, though...needs more blood. Edited October 28, 2011 by CallMePieOrDie Quote

surrideo Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Spot the one from the UK. I was expecting The eliminator and wolf to be involved Really need to find one of the gladiator minifigs before the line disappears.... Great secene btw Quote
CaptainBermuda Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 The evil skull was a mean gladiator, who killed the other normal ones Quote
Angeli Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 I don't think that I will ever look at that hair with the same eyes again :) I like it, atmosphere. Is it part of a larger moc? Quote
Flare Posted October 29, 2011 Author Posted October 29, 2011 Thank you everyone. I don't think that I will ever look at that hair with the same eyes again :) I like it, atmosphere. Is it part of a larger moc? It is really a forced perspective shot, so any other view wouldn't look as good. Quote
KristofBD Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Is that part of the MOC I saw at LEGO-world (Zwolle, NL)? Excellent shot. It is simple, but captures the atmosphere perfectly! I do agree though... I want more blood! Quote

Khorne Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Great MOC, nice and simple. Despite its seemingly simplicity, I depicts a gladiator fight really well. But having watched Spartacus (and of course the legendary movie 'Gladiator') I can't help but add my voice to the public screaming for more blood! Blood and gore would really make this creation stand out. As BigCam already asked, is it possible to see pictures of the entire build, so we can see how it looks in real life? Quote
Flare Posted October 29, 2011 Author Posted October 29, 2011 For all of you who were interested in seeing how I actually created this scene: Quote
Si-MOCs Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 I just wanted to echo what everyone was saying - simple and very nicely done. It's one of those on the first look it's very plain, then you see all the little details and how flushed out it is. And now seeing how it's actually done it makes the build that much more impressive to me. Really nicely done sir! Quote
Gareth Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 This is a great MOC, I like the Gladiator mini fig he's one of my favourets. That's a very cleaver way of making a really large looking set out. It would be good to mix the gladiator with the Roman mini figure from series 6 when it comes out, you could make more historical scenes. Great Moc and very well thought out Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 No wonder they fight like that, the guy in the helmet called the other a girl with that hair ! Excellent scene 'Flare', and fantastic scaling to effect ! Brick On Fight On.....to the death !( or ) Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Great scene and wonderful details ...I like the skulls on the ground! Awesome work! Quote
Flare Posted October 30, 2011 Author Posted October 30, 2011 Thank you everyone for your compliments and comments - I really appreciate it (I think this might be one of my most popular MOCs )... Quote
trooper 278 Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Very well done, the whole scene is so lifelike ... Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I am really looking forward to seeing the outer part of this diorama. I feel that the brickforge blood spill would work fantastic here! Quote
