Mecha Contest Poll

alrighty...it's now sept 11 and time to vote for the best sensei mech!

we have:

yoda's

jinzo's

LV's

Exo-champ's

SuvieD's

and Dill the pill's

if you want to see more go here.

remember that you are voting for the mech only. minifigs do not count. they are merely there for visual aid for people to promote how their mech will look with a sensei wannabe. :-P

voting is based on three equally weighted categories: originality, fit and design. all three will be explained below.

originality - here's where you give points for new, unique, ingenius design. bricks or construction method which you think is the creator's own and not a rip-off of some lego instruction manual.

fit - does the mech fit in the exo-force theme. is it something which the sensei would pilot himself? does it fit in with the role of the sensei?

design - aesthetic points...do you absolutely just adore the mech? does it make you want to BL the parts just so you can make a model of it to put on your display mantle.

all three categories will be awarded 10 points each. tally up the points for each mech, and vote for the mech with the most points. you can reveal your vote/points for each mech if you want to.

voting will be done the american way, which is one person one vote. it doesnt matter how many points the mech get in the end, it's the vote that counts.

voting will end in 1 week on sept 17th midnight (forum clock time). please vote by then. any question post here.

ok... so i missed the deadline :-X you see? that's why i need yoda on a msn on a regular basis! he'd warn me about these things! :-P oh well... I like Suvie's robot, but i voted for yoda's. i like the inverted sloped cockpit ...

I voted for LV as his entry looks good, but also looks like it belongs in the Exo-Force line.

Not one for voting for myself. I voted for ExoChamp. It has a nifty legs only design that I could see being used for that character.

i was wondering why jinzo got only 1 vote and saw i only attached a headshot pic of his mech. hehe, so i fixed it....not sure if that will get him more vote. *sad*

i wont be voting as i'm the organizer... :-P

wish i had put in a couple of polls too to find out how people have assigned points to each 3 categories. :-P would be nice to find out which got the most point for originality, fit and design. lol...oh well, i did shot myself in the foot for only having one poll. :-$

I am also amazed by Jinzo getting only one so far... I voted for yoda for two reason. One is that he asked me zillion times to do so (and I know that he won't be asking me anymore now that I did). the other reason is that I liek his mecha a lot for one reason : it can separate in two small vehicules, which gives him this "bioman" look.

It was almost a tie between the Escape Mech and the Sentai Stinger,

but eventually i voted for the Sentai Stinger.It somehow has this MechWarrior/EXF Micromech feel.

Lol, it's quite alright. :-D

Keep in mind that this is largely more a System forum than Technic, and that I literally SLAPPED that together in a few short hours (got the due date wrong... entered it 2 or 3 days early).

Oh duh, yeah... he was a Godaikin robot from the 80's!

I had a smaller version of him, which didn't transform... but it was diecast. *sweet*

alright. polling is officially closed. exo-champ is the winner with 11 votes! congratulations! followed by lost viking and suvieD.

thanks to all who participated. it was a tight contest. i think exo-champ won on originality and fit. lost viking in my opinion probably has a better design. it lost on originality vs exo-champ's. suvieD's has good originality, design probably didn't do as well on fit. at one point it was neck-and-neck between EC and LV. :-D *y*

let's have a new contest next year. it will probably be a new competition instead of just rehashing a sensei mech with the new 2007 parts. :-P will probably involve some fan fiction too...can't say now. everything is in my head. won't want to spoil the surprise. :-P

NEXT YEAR! *sing* I can't wait that long! Even though my butt got kicked I'm determined to try again next time using some pointers I learned from the best. I say that we do lots of contests with a different intro every time, and after a contest is over(like yours) someone else makes a new one. Do you think that is a good idea? If you do could I make a contest? I have a theme planned out and everything. If not I won't. So basically I'm asking you for permission, Natellite. Whadda think? X-D
