bootz Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Not based on any actual Seagrave truck, just the cab was clearly inspired by their older models. I searched to see if anyone had built one of these in this style before but I didn't find a single one. Most Lego Seagraves tend to be more modern trucks. Comments and criticism please. This is my most ambitious fire truck to date, however it's still unfinished. I was just excited to get it posted on here and get some feedback. I apologize that some of the pictures are grainy. My HTC Inspire takes decent pictures for a phone, not great ones. Plus I don't really have a set up for taking pictures. Well, here ya go, hope you enjoy. Quote
HighFlyer Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Nice looking engine, love the SNOT front and the side detailing. Good work!! Quote
lightningtiger Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Nice work so far 'bootz', but headlights stick out too far and it might look better as an eight wide with two 4 wide windscreens. I would go back and start from the front and work my way back....still I like what you done so far....take the above image as inspiration and you'll build an AWESOME hook & ladder 'bootz'.....Brick On ! bootz Posted October 24, 2011 Author Posted October 24, 2011 I definitely agree that the details of the front would look better in a larger scale and I thought of making it an 8 wife from the start especially to get that split window look but I'm getting Fire Brigade for Christmas and I'm worried this won't fit as it is. I'm happy with it for now aside from some minor details. I was originally going to make it and a tractor and trailer but decided to go with just a chassis. I've put this aside to work on my car dealership anyway, as I had put that on the back burner for a few months now. Pics to come of that, its still a wip and I have to bricklink all the tiles for the floor and sidewalk. I'm really excited to post it. It'll be my first modular building. I had originally tried it as a classic town style but wanted something to fit with the Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium that my brother may get for Xmas. Again, pics to come later today. Can't wait until work is over! Haha :) Quote
mattb483 Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Great looking rig I think the front looks great! The only few things I'd change is put the water tank and gages behind the cab, and then move the roll up doors back and then lower the back down a little lower. Besides that I think you got a great rig there. Quote

bootz Posted November 2, 2011 Author Posted November 2, 2011 Another slight modification, it gives it more of an art deco look I think. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Great work and beautiful technical details! Thanks for sharing Quote
kotaco Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Nicely done, are those brickforge emergency lights or did they come with the set? They look nice. Im a bit of a Lego fire fan myself. Quote

I'm not sure exactly what set they came from, but they are real Lego. My best guess is a Res-Q set. I believe the original set came with 1x2 trans blue tiles for lights. Quote
