Since I'm doing a second theme (New Mannum being the first) in the 1950's and based on the 2008 Town Plan set.

Can you guess what build might come after the car dealer.....?

More to come and yes, I will be brick-building these for ?

Suggest away everyone, anything from the 1950's I'll give it go !

Well, considering the condiments(very cute btw, I like the salt and pepper alot) I'm guessing you will be doing a diner or restaurant of some sort next?

I'd love to see a car that's even flashier than the one from Town Plan. Something with huge fins and lots of chrome. And then, to be the yin to it's yang, something small like a Nash Metropolitan.

Bingo 'Bootz' a dinner...straight across the road from the cinema, I'll start work on that one shortly.

A book store, hmm....yes I'll consider it 'HighFlyer'. :classic:

Actually a 50's hardware store run by a guy called Mr C. is on the cards for sure.

Keep commenting and watching (Oh, I have brick-built the stuff in the LDD picture....posting once I have the right coloured parts today  ).

Wonderful telephone LT! I just love this vintage design!

Thanks 'LT12V', actually I had to redesign the pay phone to suit minifigs....oh, I must update it....oops, I didn't do it in LDD...I will though.

I'll edit shortly.

Quick edit....now that was quick you might say !

Thanks 'LT12V' and '-zenn' for your kind words, I knocked up another LDD creation here....look for the five & dime store. :sweet:

Perfect suggestion '-zenn' a gumball machine....oh, how 1950's is that eh ? (I check out some designs right now) (by the way, that post-mix is based on a Coca Cola machine from the 1930's)

Keep watching everyone ! :classic:

Quick edit.....this is why I'm called Lightningtiger....

Wow, that was fast! *oh2*

it would be fun to have waitresses on rollerskates and a jukebox just screams 1950 to me. Maybe an elvis look-a-like customer.

*edit; every dinner served milkshakes and burgers back then, that's an easy one.

Most of them also had checkered flooring and booths.

Sure skateboard to iceskates ?

The new motor mechanic figure in the January wave of collectables will be handy so to the cap from the butcher for the diner's soda jerk.

Keep watching !

That gumball machine is pretty sweet! Will it go in your diner?

Am I allowed to say... Brick on, 'lightningtiger!' :classic:

Thanks 'slovakiasteph', you may say that....oh, and the gumball machine - yep, it's going out the front of the diner...a gap filler where the tiling of pavement doesn't meet the curved frontage of the dinner....likewise the cigar stand fills the spot in front of the barber's shop.

Thanks 'Hoexbroe' glad you like my gumball machine....link to see a redesign if it in brick-form

No, I like more the version with the grey cheese! -Looks more like a dispenser to me.

Here is a similar one I made one and a half year ago;

It just occured to me, that a kid on flickr made a gumball machine as well... But he'd put some abs granulates in it. would be kewl if you could get your hands on some.

And oldschool vinyl records on the walls can be a neat touch. You are the 'sticker wizard', so some stickers on round tiles would do the trick.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, dam it now I have to buy a black tap today - I'm fresh out (hence reason for MkII).

Now guess what this is......lddscreenshot13.png

Comments and suggestions welcome as always.....more to come !

Ah man, great! Maybe you could make on with arched pieces, so it will have that iconic round shape on top.

Ah, but that wouldn't be 1950's rock and roll era, the jukeboxes you speak of come from the 1930's/early 1940's....you can see the art-deco in it.....my design is modernistic 1950's.....98d092ad1c69807c4a3cbbc2a9ec99bf.JPG.

But thanks for the feedback '-zenn' ! :classic:
