LeeMcG Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Hi - I'm new here, and I thought I'd start posting MOCs and try image linking etc. with a couple of things my son has done. He's 4, and loves LEGO, but has no interest in bricks or following instructions. What he loves is building mini-figs and putting all sorts of greeble parts (that's probably a bit of a stretch considering some of the amazing greebling the master space builders achieve) such as wings, boosters, grilles to create various 'swooshing' 'vehicles'. 'Vehicles' becuase they invaribly change from being boats to planes to submarines to spaceships as bits get added and taken away. I just build the base for him, and he adds everything else. Here is the first: And the second: I think they look good together: There are a few more pictures on my Flickr stream and some WIPs of the main MOC I'm working on which is a mini-fig scale of my own house. Thanks for looking Lee Quote
lorax Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 I think these are really cool, they are far better than my attempts at building space stuff. Your 4 year old has some excellent skills (I especially love the top one). Here are my toddlers first attempts (at 2 1/2) of building a lego airplane (it was her first MOC). dodo Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 those are cool and decent creations for the respective ages... my son is 2 now, and all he knows in terms of LEGO is taking his dad's collection apart and hid the parts somewhere in the house ... Quote
HighFlyer Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Wow, pretty cool creations, fantastic for a 4 year old! Quote
Pingles Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 My daughter is almost three and her giant box of Duplo sits unused but she loves "Daddy's" Lego. I have a variety of kits (some modified for toddler playing) and a giant pile of bricks. She has just now started being intrigued by clicking them together. She doesn't always grasp which side is which on the bricks and can get frustrated by I am regularly surprised by the way she interacts with the regular kits. I love watching her accomplish stuff and try to reinforce how she couldn't do stuff when she was a baby but now she can because she is growing up. This "Dad" stuff can be pretty neat. Quote
