This is my first real non purist custom so go easy on me. The knight centres around his heraldic crest, a snake. The snake around the lance is made of a product called FIMO, which requires a bake in the oven. Then painted green. Still a WIP really, so i'm very open to comments and suggestion on how to improve things. Going with the colour scheme of black and green to match the shield is slightly tricky. Too much black can make it hard to see details. (Hence the white horse)

Backstory to come.

I love the custom serpent lance! I always thought the Lego lance was a bit thin, so the serpent swirled around it gives it just the right amount of extra bulk.

My only suggestion for improving it would be to do some custom barding rather than just a saddle. That might help to give it more of a "tournament champion" look.

Great work!

Hi, thank you both for you comments.

snake is great

is ti playable? (will it brake easy?)

The snake seems quite sturdy since the FIMO has some flexibility, however I don't want to touch it too much incase it comes away from the lance.

Thanks for the suggestion, hopefully I can come up with some interesting barding.

A great entry! I really love the serpent pike and the face choice. I wouldn't really want to encounter that one, unless i had like two dozen penguins to back me!

Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) :classic:

quite a decent entry, with mainly purist parts, and your first attempt at non-purist custom.

Some suggestions if I may,

I would paint the green on the snake again to get it more evenly coated colour, or if you could paint scales in different hues of green...

Perhaps some bright red or gold to highlight the eyes on the shield, or edges of the shield?

the helmet also lends itself well to add on parts - horns, samurai crests, pirate/musketeer feathers etc..

And as 'Thrash' mentioned, a barding will do nicely! Maybe you can get a Kingdoms dragon knight and paint over the barding with a 'snake' as your heraldry using black and green as on your fimo?

I came back to look at that awesome twisted snake lance again and I realized that in addition to some nice barding the horse would look much better with a helmet. That poor horse could get hit in the head and lose an eye from the opponents lance!

Nice job on the lance, Duke.

Please make sure to update your entry with all the required (front, side and back) shots of the minifigure to qualify.
